Pre-production Chevy Volt takes a bath in GM’s universal water chamber

Development on the Chevy Volt continues to progress at neck-break speed and GM has been sharing bits and pieces of the vehicle’s testing and engineering along the way. This new video caught our interest for the sheer fact that it combines the “electric” Volt undergoing leak testing in GM’s Universal Water Chamber.

GM adds 60,000 cars and trucks to production schedule for 09

General Motors is increasing production at several North America assembly plants in response to increased sales. The company will add shifts, overtime and reinstate forecasted down weeks at select facilities. As a result, GM will add about 60,000 vehicles in the third and mainly the fourth quarter production forecast, ensuring a wide selection of high-quality, fuel efficient cars, crossovers and trucks for customers.

GM to provide cash advances to dealers for CARS rebates

This morning General Motors announced it would be providing cash advances to dealers equal to the amounts they are currently owed under the government run CARS rebate program. The advances will allow dealers to stay in business until the rebates are processed.

Saturn VUE Plug-In Hybrid to be resurrected as a Buick in 2011

From the very first day General Motors announced it would sell off Saturn, much debate and speculation has been floated surrounding the technology behind the highly anticipated, yet now dead Saturn VUE plug-in hybrid. What brand would get the hybrid goods and when? Today it turns out the answer is Buick, 2011.
