Shit some people have signatures so big I have to scroll over a whole screen just to read thier posts. Very annoying, yeah sure you got a nice truck but it doesn't need to be 1920x1200 or some other ridiculous size!

Are people that retarded to not know how huge thier sig pics are??

New Dynomax Exhaust For 2009-2010 Silverado

Dynomax is offering a $75 rebate on their exhaust kits. They just came out with a new full stainless cat-back kit for 2009-2010 Silverados.

<a href="http://www.dynomax.com/application_info.php?syear=2010-2009&part=39495&systemtype=gas&svehic=Silverado/Sierra%201500%204.8L.%205.3L%20Crew%20Cab%20Short%20Bed.%20Extended%20Cab%20Std%20Bed%20-%20143.5"%20wheelbase&ssystem=Single%20-%203"%20system.%204"%20tip.%20Ultra%20Flo%20Welded%20Muffler" target="_blank">http://www.dynomax.com/application_info.ph...elded%20Muffler

I was planning on a JBA cat-back kit like I had on the last truck, but the Dynomax is about $60 less at Summit Racing, not including the rebate.

http://www.summitracing.com/search/?keyword=39495&dds=1

Has anyone installed one of these yet? I am seriously considering it, but I wonder about the sound and if there are any drone issues. I had Dynomax mufflers on my Chevelle and loved them, but they were loud....not something I would want to hear every day in my rig.

So should I spring for the Dynomax or just go with the JBA? I have not seen any sound clips of this kit posted yet.

Don't Lose Your Keys

Any Keys that have a "+" inside of a circle have a chip in them and cost $48.xx each and have to be programmed to work so the vehicle needs to be there when the key is made. I needed an extra key and stopped to get one made yesterday. Before he even cut it he said it will cost you $51.xx with tax. Judging from his remarks I guess a lot of customers get really po'd over this. He also said, better hope you never lose both keys or you got big problems.

That's got to be one expensive chip to charge that much.

Stereo Swap Question

Hello,

I've read countless posts that when you swap a factory style stereo into another vehicle, that the stereo has to be programmed. I even double checked with the service department at my local shop, to verify the time involved, and if they could do so while I waited (understand it to be a 20 minute deal).

So, you can imagine my surprise, after buying a stereo from a member here, putting it in my truck last night, and it working without any further steps.

My two theories:

1 - The vehicle it came from was another Silverado (I believe), and it only checks that portion of the VIN?

2 - My vehicle has 850 miles on it - maybe its still in a 'learning what it has mode'?

Of course, my answer that I believe, is this:

1 - My truck loves to be modified, so it said, "Screw you GM policies, Imma make it work!"

How Well Will This Work?

I have a 2008 2500HD extended cab 6.0L LTZ. i have the chevy chrome oval steps (my wife is 4-11) and a diamond back industrial bed cover (absolutely love it). I am in afghanistan right now and trying to do a little arm chair wrenching.

When i get back I am looking at installing a cognito 4" lift with the non torsion bar drop and the tubular upper controll arms and deaver springs in the rear. I think bilstein 5100 on all corners and 18" rims with 33-34ish mild mud tires something like the Cooper ST. I have 3.73's and really don't feel like changing them out so i think that is about the max i can go and still have some sort of get up and go. For performance, American Racing Headers and MRBP 3.5" pipe/muffler for the rest, possibly a aftermarket intake and corvette coils and wires but not sure. I am still undecided on whether or not i will drink the kool-aid on a tuner but if i do it will probably be the black bear from what i have read here.

I want HID for highs, lows, and fogs but i haven't found someone that sells it all, if anyone has the PN that would be great. I have a 12000LB megawinch off my 71 3/4 ton blazer that i will rebuild and throw up front. That said gotta have a second battery so it looks like 2 optimas are in my future as well. Used to be a tool and die maker before raising my right hand and plan on using that experience to fab some DOM tube and diamond plate bumpers and steps to match the bed cover. My goal is to have a truck that will be capable both on and off road and to have everything work together. Since Uncle Sam decides my zipcode my truck will need to be a jack of all terrians, I wanted to get some opinions on whether or not i am barking up the wrong tree. If anyone thinks there is a better combo please let me know, as i am new to the whole shiny truck thing. I am used to building old iron, 71 and 72 chevys.

Thanks in advance for any help.
