Ques About Autoride In 06 Denali Xl

Recommended Posts

So wife's denali has the "service ride control" msg

I was into it in Nov with a successful fix: http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.php?...ce+ride+control but now its having issues again.

Current situation is that one of the bags is sliced and the compressor has died.

2 options

1) Arnott for both $369 for the rear bags and $179 for a compressor http://www.arnottindustries.com/part_GMC_A...id15_pid96.html

2) Strutmasters for non air rears for $297 http://www.strutmasters.com/GMC-Denali-Air...gm-suv-r1-d.htm but then I'll need to figure out a way to get rid of the msg on the DIC http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.php?...autoride+shocks appears to have a solution but will require a tune

So my question

Have many of you out there been able to ditch the air bags in the rear after the compressor dies and gotten to the msg off the DIC? According to strutmasters they have the resistors necessary to bypass the open connection issue when the bags are gone. But with a dead compressor they are less certain the message will go away. Is a PCM/BCM tune necessary to get rid of the compressor code?

Any input very welcomed.

thanks,

You can get rid of the message by using resistors. I dont remeber the value of them off the top of my head but I think 3.8 Ohm is what it takes to get rid of the message.

I have installed quite a few arnott replacement air suspension systems on crown vic's, grand marquis, town cars, and expeditions... They last LONGER than the OE stuff...... So far the only thing I have found is solenoids should come from the dealer as they seem to not know how to read a micrometer at arnott (or there manufacture of solenoids does not they are always to large for the bore on the bags)....

Possibly, adding the correct resistor to each wire for the level sensor would cut the check suspension off....
