Anyone encountered this problem with thier Duramax Allison transmission before.

Slow or no engagement into gear and a flashing number 3 on the gear selection prndl. Need help. Thanks in advance.  :D

I have never had the flashing, but after

my truck sit for about 3 weeks, it was slow

going into gear. Dealer told me it was a normal

thing if a truck sits for awhile.

Pretty common. This is due to the left front tire throwing water directly into the PNP (park/neutral switch) on the side of the trans during left turns. Guaranteed this is your problem.

Here's the part number for a new design switch along with a shield: 29540479

LOTS of problems with water getting into th neutral/backup switch on the side of the trans. In a left turn, the left front wheel throws water right at the switch. The result is all sorts of problems, like yours.

Pull the connector off and see if there's moisture. If there is, I'd definitely replace that switch. If there isn't, there still could be water in the switch itself.

There's an updated switch to take care of this problem. I don't have a part number, but if you buy a new switch you'll get the latest and greatest.
