isolated dual battery upgrade--pn's needed

Recommended Posts

While I have searched the forum, I cannot find the post that someone put up that lists all the GM part numbers for what is needed to upgrade to an isolated dual battery. I am adding a voltage inverter and want to run it off a separate battery. I know I need the tray, hold down clamp, isolator unit, cables, ???. The parts drone at the local dealer was trying to sell me the driver's side tray based on the truck's VIN, so they are not much help....

Thanks,

I installed dual batteries on my '97. I used an isolator sold through Warn. I have had no problems what so ever. And I can jump myself off. I did find out later that the same isolator sold through Warn, was availble through my local NAPA without the Warn logo.

Here ya' go.......

FUSE,40 AMP MEGA#15383342

RETAINER,AUX.BATTERY HOLDDOWN#356668

TRAY,AUX.BATTERY#15246518

AND OF COURSE YOU NEED A 78-SERIES BATTERY.

I should add that there are some "standard" parts you need as well,Such as nuts, bolts, retainers & clips,These are easily procured at any auto parts or hardware store.

One other thing,These part numbers are for RPO Option Codes TP2 or 8B0.

No,They are not the same,Everything is different on the '07 Suburbans/Tahoes/Avalanches.

I'll have to look into the part numbers for adding a second battery on the GMT900's.

Rich, Many thanks for the numbers. For everyone else, many thanks for the advice. Now to get it all in one place and have a good afternoon weather-wise to put it all together....
