GM Bug Shield vs EGR Bug Shield
I originally bought the GM bug shield but it came off while going through the car wash due to it's design. the GM bug shield does not wrap under the hood, it fits on the front with two sided tape and a metal clip at each end of the shield that digs into the paint in the hood. the GM bug shield looks nice and shows off the chrome trim on the hood but the mounting design sucks. I removed the GM bug shield and installed an EGR Aerowrap part number 391601. the EGR shield wraps under the hood and utilizes the factory holes in the underside of the hood to mount the bug shield. EGR supplies the needed mounting hardware and the shield is installed without drilling any holes. the mounting design, fit and finish of the EGR bug shield is far superior to the GM shield. pics of both are below. first pictures are of the GM shield and the second set of pictures are of the EGR shield. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
