Hello,
I am looking to install a 2" reciever hitch on a 2008 Equinox Sport(using for a bike carrier) and was wondering if anyone hase used THIS hitch? It is manufactured by Thule and is a class 3. My biggest concern is that I want it to be hidden behind rear bumper cover/not exposed when looking at vehicle from the rear. Can anyone share any info regarding this hitch?

Thanks much,
-John

Hey John,
I can't say I've seen a Thule hitch before, and the picture on Rigids website is of a GMT900 hitch. With that said the Thule hitch is most likely Valley Towing hitch part number 82540, as the Thule group owns Valley. The Valley hitch is not hidden on the Equinox. Unfortunately because of the design of the weld nuts that the hitch bolts to on your SUV the cross tube of the hitch will be exposed. This is true for Curt, Draw Tite, Reese and Hidden Hitch hitches. Most of the hitches will look like this one from Curt

I hope this answers your question.

Thanks for the reponse actionman. So do you think that the OEM accessory hitch offered from GM for this vehicle would be hidden?

Regards,
-John

I would assume by now you actually bought a hitch, but I bought a hidden hitch class 3 from etrailer.com for less than 1/2 of what they wanted for that one, and its fit and finish are great...although it does sit just behind the rear fascia.
