Whats the cost?, I might be in 85%

So I am trying to see who all is intrested in haveing Justin from BB come to the Twin Cities area for a live tune. I live up in Crookston but am willing to drive down for one of his tunes. After I get some people that want to(10 or more), I will get ahold of Justin to set everything up. So if anyone has any ideas on places down there that we can do it at post them up and we can discuss the options.

Thanks for contacting me about a tune. There is typically a 10-15hp gain going from 87 to 91, 89 would be less power than 91 octane. To keep your stock PCM, you'd be looking at $100 on top of the tune price. You'd be entitled to a 15% discount off of the tune service if you could send a copy of that state certification.
We have two types of mail order tunes available. They are a traditional mail order tune and a scan cable mail order tune. With the traditional tune, you provide your VIN, answer a set of questions and we will mail out a tune to you. With the scan cable tune, you pay a security deposit and we ship out a cable that you use to collect data from your vehicle as you drive. That data is then emailed in to us to be analyzed. In some cases, the data will show a mechanical condition that needs to be corrected before the tuning process can proceed. If this is the case, we'll do our best to help you determine the cause of the problem so that your tune will perform as well as it possibly can. Once all problems are squared away, we'll then build a tune for you based on that data and ship a tune out to you. You'll then use the scan cable to perform a crank relearn procedure and create a final log with the new tune in place. The scan cable is then returned for a refund of your security deposit. If you would like a traditional mail order tune, the price will be $170 for the tune and $100 for the PCM core charge, which would be refunded when/if your stock PCM is returned. If you would like a scan cable mail order tune, the price will be $255 for the tune, $100 for the PCM core charge and $250 for the scan cable security deposit. Both the PCM core charge and scan cable deposit are fully refundable. When all is said and done, you're looking at $170-270 for a traditional mail order tune and $255-355 for a scan cable mail order tune.

I'm from Thunder Bay, Ontario...Minnie is just a short 5 hour drive...I would like to be there for the BB tune...

Sounds like 6 for sure and 2 maybes we are well on our way. Will Justin do tunes in the winter? Didnt know if that made a diffreance.

You cannot count me or Andy, since we already have BB tunes. Updates do not count toward the 10 minimum.

Justin can tune in the winter, but you are taking a chance with the weather. You don't want slick roads.

In Nov of 08, when Justin was here, it was windy and in the 30's. Cold as hell, but the roads were mostly dry.

I would set it up for May.

At the moment, Justin is booked through January, but he has no problem making a trip back up to MN if you guys have 10+ tunes together

Hey Buck, how far are you willing to drive into MN to do this? East metro, West metro, St Cloud? Lemme know...I want a spot that is somewhat convenient for the majority of people.

I think that sounds like a plan, but I still owe ya for lunch (which I'm sure you still remember).

The later the better and i'm in. since he is booked through jan, waiting till april/may might be a wise choice to see dry roads. north metro or st cloud would be nice but i guess i want it too bad to really care.

It would be pretty sweet to have going into camper pullin season....

I am in let me know when it is next year. Try and stay away from the 1st weekend of the month as I usually work that weekend.

Keep in mind that this is about 8 months away. Things will change...and try to update this thread if they do.

I'll try and figure out a place at which this can happen...and anyone else around the Twin Cities that has any ideas, please post them. I'll PM Jenna and find out what kind of facilities Justin will need.

No worries, he doesn't have you go all that fast, but you will need to put it to the floor a few times from a stop and a 25-30 MPH roll.

Of course, the test driving post-tune is a different story!

I know already, the last two weekends in May will not work, due to prior engagements. But realistically, this is so far off that there is no need to lock in a date.

Let's hold off a bit til the time gets closer, considering this is over a half a year away!
