Hey!

I have an 2009 Silverado LT which the sticker says my driver and passenger side mirrors include the "tilt-down" function which tilts down the mirrors when put into reverse. When I put it in reverse though, the mirros dont tilt down. The function is also not availble to be changed in the DIC. I did some research and found that this feature only becomes activated if you have the "memory package" otherwise your truck wouldn't remember where you left your mirrors positioned to when shifted back into Drive. It makes sense to me!

Question is though, Like many other weird GM ways, could I somehow just order a part which would retain this memory function for the mirrors? Just plug it in for it to work? I can't see why not...

If anyone knows, post it up!

Thanks!!

Also, I have a '07 LTZ, seat memory, manual extend heated/signal tow mirrors.... but no "tilt in REV" option on DIC. Anyone played around with this? How do I go about enabling reverse mirror tilt?

Thanks!

You mean "Park Assist Mirrors"? I believe that's what it's called on mine anyway....

Sounds like everything is in place for this additional function, is it just a matter of going to a dealer and having the new software loaded/activated?

OK... now I'm stumped again... maybe I just read too much on these damn info forums and get my poor brain all in a tizzy!!!

I have the same switches as described in the other threads so they are the data bus type setup
and they say I should have the "Park Assist" function available on DIC with the databus setup:

And read the following threads which support my case:
http://performancetrucks.net/forums/showthread.php?t=441341
http://www.chevyavalanchefanclub.com/cafcn...topic=102872.25

And I got even more info from guys trying to upgrade/enable power folding such as :
http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=89641
http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.php?...;hl=mirror+tilt

But again, it seams a hit or miss whether anything we do makes a lot of sense. Does GM do this type of thing just to screw us around or is there actually a lot more available in their programming tools than we even know about?

Anyhow, as I see it, I can either:
A) Go to the dealer and have the memory modules in my doors flashed with their Tech II tool for the option under "Onstar/Personalization/Set Options"
B) This option isn't available on my truck because my VIN says so, so there! take that!
C) Get a GM service tech who knows how to actually use they tools they are provided and he MAY know what/how to enable this nice little function

Maybe I'll be lucky again this time around like I was with my VCIM!!!
One can only hope.....

Yeah, I'm gonna go to the dealer on Tuesday and see if they can activate my mirrors to do this. My truck already came with the the power folding mirrors from the factory, but the park tilt mirror function does not show up in the DIC. Hopefully all it takes is to activate the feature.

Well i went to the Chevy dealer today (not the one where i bought my truck from) and told them about the procedure I was told about getting this to work. Well an hour later without phoning me to say my truck was done I pull up to the dealer and it was sitting outside. I go and ask them if they got it to work and they replied that they did not and said the shop foreman couldnt even figure it out. Anyways, I think these guys are just not bright. I have another appointment on thursday at my dealer where i bought the truck from.

I took it in again today and the second dealer told me its a no go. I have the DL3 mirrors and they still could not flash the truck to get it to work. This is getting me mad!

That makes no sense. Anyone else with a 2009 and DL3 mirrors have the tilt down function? I wonder if GM just eliminated that capability in the door memory modules or something....
