Here's a pic of how my truck is coming along!

It started off looking like this:

And Today:

My question to you guys and gals is would it be better to 86 the Pin Stripe or does it give the white some character?

Thanks!
mfennema
I like the pinstriping, but not necessarily how its laid out here. Definitely makes it unique which is what each of us go for in our trucks. Doesn't matter if we like it or not tho.....

Pinstripes went out with the 70's. puke.gif

I like some pinstripes, but I don't particularly care for this one. Love the white out and the wheels though.
WhiteRabbit
So only 5 for removing it and 3 say it should stay. I thought there would be more votes. Must not be a popular section of this site.

I prefer pine stripes.
66nova
It just went from extremely clean looking to the only thing my eyes can focus on are those pin stripes. I didn't even notice the wheels at first.

I have to put a vote in for bye, bye!

It makes it look like a tundra

hahaha thats the worst insult for a truck.... i say get rid of the pinstripes too.. i just think it looks weird

I say keep the stripes but lose the contour, straighten those stripes out.
BuckFeverZ
I say take 'em off. It's hard to make pinstripping look good on GMT900's. Also, did you paint the pillars between the windows? Never seen that before.
Amtz.Zero
I don't really care for pinstripes on GMT900's. My dad's '03 Silverado looks alright with them, though.

Yeah, actually it's not paint but vinyl.

Keep the opinions coming guys!. I really like hearing what others think of those pin-stripes. I have been on the fence about it. I like em and I don't lol!. They do look much better close up and in person but Im leaning on pulling em!

Thanks!

I have stripes on mine. It breaks up the white in my opinion. Do you have them on the tailgate as well? I am keeping mine!!! thumb.gif

More 80's but yea, do a body wrap or some unique custom graphics and stand out from the crowd! biggrin.gif

To be quite honest, I hate pin stripes. Any. Now....racing stripes on a '69 Camaro is a different story.

Really....it only matters what you like.
JJ04Z71
I gotta say get rid of the stripe.

rvj
Mine came from the dealer with stripes quite a bit like your's and after several months I took them off.
09LowesSilverado
I say keep the pinstripes on the fenders and box, but get rid of the stripes that curve under the windows.
Sapo
Nice wheels but not too big on the pinstripes. I'd go the clean route.

I'm torn on the nerf bars. I like the looks, but I'm biased b/c I'm tall and all they do is get dirt on my pants when I'm not paying attention.

Thanks!. THis past weekend I installed a 2in Leveling kit and now the side steps REALLY help getting in and out of the beast.

Thanks a lot for everyone's feedback and opinions on my Pin stripes.

I guess when I first got my truck I found it to be a little plain looking and wanted to snaz it up a little bit so I installed some Pin stripping myself and thought it helped make the truck seem a little less "Work Truck" looking.

Later I had the black out vinyl added between the Front door and Ext Cab door and while I was there they noticed my shabby pin stripping and offered to show me what real pin-stripping looks like and at the time I thought it wasn't that bad looking. At least it was better than what I had professional wise.

Now that I got my 20's installed and the leveling kit too among a few other mods.. I think I've gotten past the notion that my truck looks plain anymore and the more and more I look at the truck the more I'm thinking the pin stripping looks a little out of place. Especially that little curve they put on it.

I have some GM Bedrail protectors coming soon too and think with the outline of black it's going to create on the bed rails and then the pin stripe too. All in all it's too much.

I'm gonna detail the truck this weekend hopefully and they may go BYE BYE's.

Thanks again for all the feedback!

Thanks!. I never thought of the losing the other badges. They sure are a pain in the but to wash around. Trying to get the dirt in and around the little letters. . LOL!

Thanks again everyone. I was so worried that I'd regret removing the pin stripping but I absolutely AM NOT!. I agree it looks much cleaner and takes the focus off just the pin stripping.

Here's a couple betters shots from the sides taken with my dig. Camera. Also shows the leveling kit a little better

Blackout07
It looks 100x better. I'm with daddy on completing the process. Remove all of the badges for an even cleaner look. thumb.gif

I say paint the chrome front bumper body color, I did mine and I think it looks real good. World of differance for looks IMO and your looks so much better with those pin stripes off!!

Before

After

RWD
Much better now, it still looked good before, but now it's real nice
WhiteRabbit
Thanks Guys!.

Black 2009 Z60 - Do you have a side view pic of your truck with the new painted front bumper?

Also did you have a body shop paint it and if so did they just scratch up the chrome? If it gets hit with a rock will it just chip the paint or take it right down to the metal since it's not a plastic piece and give a little.

I drive alot of highway and wouldn't want that area all nicked up.

BigDave75
Much better without the pin stripes!

Glad you posted it, I was thinking aboput striping my white truck! Not now!

Sapo
I thought it would look better without the pinstripe but it looks MUCH better.
