Hi Guys

I have a GMC Sierra 2007 new style crew cab, i want to install a new subbox which i will build that will have its on amp powering the subs, my question is ...i need on the "sub box" amp i need to connect the "remote" line into the Truck stereo to get the music sent to the amp....does anybody know where that wire is located or..... am i going about this the wrong way?

What type is the radio? Factory or aftermarket? If factory, Bose or non Bose?

If using a factory radio, you will need a line out converter (this is specific to the factory radio you have) at a minimum. This will convert the factory radio speaker wires to RCA's to feed your amp. It will also have a remote turn on wire from the amp will likely wire up to your factory radio power antenna wire. If you have an aftermarket radio, there is a blue or blue/white wire in the harness behind the radio and the wire will be found there. Next time try a search in the A/V section. There are a lot of existing posts just like this one will valuable information. Good Luck.

its the factory radio in the GMC SLT and its a factory Bose system.

Peadog - You will have to tap in the LOC that Savage talks about AFTER the Bose amp to get the correct sound. If you tap in the LOC wire BEFORE the Bose amp, it will sound like garbage.

You can find the Bose amp typically in the center console, underneath the armrest area.

Also, not all LOCs include the amp turn on wire (aka remote turn on). Just depends on which brand LOC you buy. It should be noted that there is no 12V accessory power in the wire harness behind the stereo. So you will need to find some power source that gets power when the key is turned on, and loses power when the key is turned off. You should be able to find this wire at the Bose amp as well. If not, you can always find one in the ignition harness under the driver steering wheel.

Stillen is exactly correct with the bose system you have to install the LOC after the amp.

well the wires you need to tap into after the bose amp should be the same color as whats actually at each speaker.

GMs speaker wire color codes have been the same since like 1985.

Right Front (+) Light Green
Right Front (-) Dark Green
Left Front (+) Tan
Left Front (-) Gray
Right Rear (+) Dark Blue
Right Rear (-) Light Blue
Left Rear (+) Brown
Left Rear (-) Yellow

There will also be an accessory wire somewhere at the Bose amp, but I don't know the color off the top my head. I would get your multi-meter and test for it.

The subwoofer wires are different colors, and you can use a relay from the factory amp turn on lead to pick up the turn on for the new amp.

Here is the info in your vehicle:

Radio 12v red/white + radio harness
Radio Ground black - radio harness
Radio Ignition (GMLAN Serial Data)
Radio Illumination yellow (dimmer) + radio harness
Factory Amp Turn-on same as power antenna wire
Power Antenna white + radio harness
LF Speaker +/- tan - gray +,- radio harness or amplifier
Notes: If equipped, the amplifier is under the rear of the center console.

At the amplifier, the left subwoofer wires are dk. blue/white (+) - lt. green/black (-). The right subwoofer wires are dk. green (+) - lt. blue/black (-).
RF Speaker +/- lt. green - dk. green +,- radio harness or amplifier
LR Speaker +/- brown - yellow +,- radio harness or amplifier
RR Speaker +/- dk. blue - lt. blue +,- radio harness or amplifier

This information is a reference only. Always verify all circuits by using a DVM.

last question how do i remove the tray to get at the amp and the subwoofer?

Uhh I don't have a disassembly guide for that, but I would start with removing the armrest and just keep searching for screws or 7MM bolts to take out. The center console tray where the cupholders are just pops up. Start from pulling up from the rear of the console/cupholder area and move forward towards the windshield.

The front of the panel you are trying to pull out has 2 slide-in hinges that you dont want to break
