After days and weeks of aggravation and a trip to the local liquar store, i got this mechanic nailed down to help me with this servo install. So in the words of Gunery Sargent Hartman, my truck can shift "like its got a pair". will give you all an update after its done, I just wish i would of known about this before, now ill just have to see what the programmer is going to do when this thing creates more pressure.

If you put in a Vette Servo, make damn sure your line pressures are not increased by your tuner or your tranny will go kaplooie!!! Bigger diaphragm and more pressure means a hella lot more force.

A Corvette servo Holds the band 18% tighter. Increased line pressure will not hurt the trans.

I have a corvette servo and a 4th hold billet servo that holds the overdrive band 40% tighter. I also have the line pressure increased by a tune. Has been this way over two years. I tow a camper and I do get on it every now and again. No issues or problems. Lets the trans actually live longer, less strain, less heat.

Just my opinion,

Don

I suppose it depends on how much higher pressure you run with it. I am only going by what I was told by my tuner and what I have read. I am sure some added pressure with a vette servo will be ok, but I would tune accordingly if you have one.

ok this thing is great, under normal throttle about 1/3rd is just like normal to me, under about 1/2 throttle its like being in trailer tow mode all the time and under full throttle its like a some one sticks there foot right up your trucks ass, with a big push and great response . I didnt do anything to my trany line pressure besides whatever slp did. But is great to say the least.

defently a must do for anyone not doing this now.

Have you tried adding some line pressure to the 1-2 WOT shift in the Predator?

If he has a NNBS the Diablo will do nothing for the transmission. Diablo does not have TCM support for the 07-08.

I never knew you could still tow with a vette servo??? What does labor cost to put in a vette servo? Will anyone install it, or will I have to do some convincing.
Thanks.

of course you can tow with a vette servo....you don't want too much pressure when towing anyway. just quick shifts. I have more pressure when not in tow\haul and when I go in tow\haul mode I have nice firm quick shifts but not a kick in the butt because if you have a heavy load....somethings gonna give. Thats the way mine is tuned at least.

Yup

hi is the vette servo only for the 4Le60 trans or can it be used in the 4L80E trans as well. I would like to see if the servo can be installed in the 4L80E.

I put a Corvette servo in my 08' 4L70E and I'm thinking of putting in the 4th gear servo and billet cover

Old thread I know, but just in case anyone was considering this on a high mileage truck...

Definitely recommended.

I just dropped a 'Vette servo in my 04 Tahoe with 110k miles. I did a Dex VI fluid flush and filter change about 2 months ago (previous owner had done a flush with Dex III at 50k).

The truck shifts quickly and much firmer.

Easily worth the $20.

what harm could be done if i put the 4th billet and i was wondering if i could put in a shift kit also
oldschool327
No harm as long as you do it right. Shift kit servo and 4th servo no problems

The servo is only for the 700R-4/4l60/65/70

Look into a transgo shift kit for the 4l80/5

Wanting to do this to my 07 GMT900 but was unsure about purchasing off ebay. Found one (http://cgi.ebay.ca/CORVETTE-SERVO-PISTONS-...=item27a56b390e) that will be about $20 CDN shipped to my door. Does that look correct or should I pay the extra $20 (be about $40) to have it shipped from Oregon Performace?
oldschool327
That is a good deal and the right one. Make sure you ask them if it comes with a outter cover "blue" oring. It will need replaced if you are not reall really careful. Best to just have one on hand.

Definitely want the blue o-ring so you can cut the old one, pull it out and cover will just fall out. Make sure lock ring is seated all the way around the cover when finished. i used an inspection mirror and flashlight to verify.
