  1. Can someone help me get 20mpg with my 8.1? [emoji23] Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  2. What exactly is the problem? Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  3. Spark Plug Wires 8mm

MSDs and dont look back. Ran them on my '98 5.7L 1500 and I run them on my '02 8.1L 2500HD Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  4. 6.0s get the 10.5, Duramax gets the 11.5 Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  5. Did you look on Summit or Jegs? And the NGKs aren't bad, I ran them in my 8.1 for a while. I currently have Champions in it, and they don't run any worse or better than the NGKs did Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  6. The OE shallow pan should take approximately 1.5 gallons. No more than 2 though. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  7. Fill it to halfway in the 'cold' range. Run it at idle through all gears. Then get it hot (143 f is considered "hot" by Allison). You can do this quickly by powerbraking (do a burnout, but without actually spinning the tires). Then, run through all gears again, and check with engine at idle. It will be in the "hot range" add as necessary. Note of caution, since you have to fill through the dipstick tube, oftentimes, fluid will remain in there and mess up your reading for upwards of 15 minutes. Just let it run until you can a good reading Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  8. I'd also check your spark plugs, wires and coils. Also check both of your knock sensors (should be mounted on side of the block) and their associated wiring. One of those may be going bad, causing that pending code, or wiring could be chafing. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  9. For the lean codes, possibly your intake manifold gaskets are bad, or perhaps your manifold itself. These early NBS trucks had an issue with the plastic intake manifolds warping Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  10. Fuel level sender is going bad. Very common issue with these trucks. My '02 has had it go bad several times over its life. Its attached to the fuel pump, so unless you install a new pump, its not worth the hassle to fix. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  11. Yeah, no flushing with the Allison 1k. Just drain, fill, and replace the spin-on filter. If you do decide to replace the internal filter, keep the gasket. Those pan gaskets are reusable. I run the Amsoil stuff in my truck (diff fluid and engine oil) with Transynd in the trans, and have had great success with it. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  12. Why so few women in auto sales

I had a buddy work at Victoria's Secret.... Gave him hell over it the entire time. He never even got a girls number Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  13. You can "lower" the rear by lifting the front to level, like a proper HD should Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  14. intake, exhaust, tune. Unlike gassers, intake and exhaust systems help the diesels a lot. Then you need a lift pump, then injectors, then beef the trans up, then a bigger turbo Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
