Yeah, it was a retired guy with a paint and body hobby. He bought the car for parts for his all original low mile 70 GS, but after realizing it was in better overall condition than his car, replaced the parts he took with OER stuff(like a fender, bumpers, hood I think), and decided to repaint it. 12 or so coats later he decided he needed to sell it(it was perfect, he painted it the dark cherry metallix that was on the 94-96 Impala SS) and actually start on his real project. He even grafted a hood scoop from a 70 Torino GT and found the ram air assembly from some other GM(it may have been a cowl induction from a Chevelle he reversed the top on, don't remember) and made it functional. The only downside was the early 90s interior restoration, with materials from early 90s GM cars(ugly and looked so dated). We agreed on 7K or so, which shocked me, but honestly they weren't worth much when I researched them. He called months later and asked if I was ready, he was finishing wetsanding it, and I told him to call back when he was 100% because I hadn't sold my other car yet, but if I hadnt I would figure sonething out. That was the last I had heard.
That 16 1SS Convertible is down to 29k. It was over 32 when I first saw it. That "registered as rental" mark on its carfax is killing it. in comparison, they have a used 17 2SS that wasn't a rental for 40k. 81 degrees right now.
Yeah stuff like this happens in life. I'm still waiting on a call back 2006 to pick up a one off 70 Riveria GS with a ZZ454. After I transferred a coworker (who dealt with the customer also )may have told the seller I wasn't interested anymore and bought it himself, because that call never came after me and the seller agreed on a price. That or the old man died.
I ordered some ammo from Targetsportsusa last weekend and got the tracking info Monday, but it still isn't in the FedEx system. Email said expect a delay of 2-3 days, but its been over 5, and they are not answering the phones. My card has already been charged too. I used them a year or two ago and it was as expected, but I just checked some online reviews and it seems many people have had similar experiences this year. :/
SnakeEyes 325is replied to Donstar's topic in Off-TopicJust watch the weather. The further south, the worse the roads will be if it snows, because it snows less often so they are not as well prepared or equipped. Same with the drivers. You'll also get a good chuckle at all the 4x4s lining the ditches. As someone who drives for work in a RWD truck every day in Oklahoma regardless of the weather, it's not so much the roads as the bad drivers on them. You'll always have one idiot driving 10 mph on okay roads, then another that gets impatient and then drive down the middle of the highway at 70 through the piled up snow to get around them.
You guys owned the wrong FWD cars. http://imgur.com/dDa1tF7 http://imgur.com/k2BGusg http://imgur.com/U6M3G0S You can get an impact wrench on some of those bolts if you needed to for some reason. No impairment for the A.C. compressor or starter. I don't think I have seen any American car made after the 70s with that much room, even the trucks I have owned, AND it's a Japanese CUV! And a drain bolt on the pans for the transmission. Even on my Honda I think I can get a wrench on every O2 sensor without tricks or re/moving something in the way.
SnakeEyes 325is replied to WayneRight32's topic in Off-TopicP1. Some of you guys are aiming pretty low. No Bugatti, the maintenance on those things is ridiculous, you would need another blank check every few hundred miles.
Oh right. There is a Red Hot SS near me for 40k with a few dozen miles. I was thinking about it too, the GXPs have held their value well. And it would fit the kids much better than the 911 sized interior of the 6th Gen
I thought the GM 20% off old stock/2017s excludes Camaro's this year. I just checked the other day, since that yellow 2016 SS convertible I was too close to buying is down to 30k(which is what my offer price was going to be, until I read they raised car sales tax in OK) and figured if I can get a 2017 for 20%off I'd look, but read the fine print. Is it just one dealer, or did I miss something? My local dealer that had a new 2015 Z/28 for $50k when the 2016s came out isn't even going near 20%.
So, since the dog is outside nearly all the time now, I covered the air vents of the giant kennel with cardboard. I figured he will eat it so I soaked it in used motor oil(that stopped him from eating the mower pull card a second time). He still ate 12"x5" piece of cardboard. I've read it could cause severe diarrhea so now he doesn't even get blankets. Oh, and his kennel is now exposed to the wind of course from his own doing. He also ate a third of a 3 foot rawhide bone today. Really, the dumbest dog in world?
