66nova replied to Timinsk's topic in 2014 / 2015 / 2016 / 2017 / 2018 Silverado & Sierra Accessories & ModificationsI have had both of mine fail (read break). I don't do any off roading or crazy cornering. Found them both at random when checking header and Y pipe bolts.
It's funny that you post this. I was reading through the last 3 pages and was getting G ready to post something similar. Justin is a friend of mine. I have talked to him multiple times about this and he has told me that in all of his data logging most gm vehicles respond better to 89+. He sees enough timing retard from the stock tune to make it worth it to run higher grade.
66nova replied to Go-Bucky's topic in 2014 / 2015 / 2016 / 2017 / 2018 Silverado & Sierra Accessories & ModificationsWeird. You don't have the rear of the yours lowered do you? Even with 5-10 lbs of air in mine it seems smooth.
66nova replied to Go-Bucky's topic in 2014 / 2015 / 2016 / 2017 / 2018 Silverado & Sierra Accessories & ModificationsI have the air lift 5000 ultimates also. I had the ride control bags previously on this truck. Definitely prefer the 5000s. A couple weeks ago I installed their wireless compressor system and its definitely worth the investment. Very easy install and can air bags up on the go. Also have 3 memory presets.
Should bolt right in. I fully understand what you're talking about. I do have to Touring, but for a long time wish I had to sport. That is until I got headers with an ORY. I'll tell you the Touring is not quiet either. It's not bad with normal driving and at idle, but when you mash the go peddle it's loud.
66nova posted a topic in 1999-2006 & 2007-2013 Chevrolet Silverado & GMC Sierra 1500I installed the Airlift wirelessone compressor on my truck yesterday. Overall it's a very easy install. Hardest part is deciding on compressor location and how you want to run lines/wires. It took me about an hour and a half. That time could easily be split in half if you have a lift and have all tools laid out. So far, I'm very pleased. Help is important;) Power wire ran to 15 amp fuse that only has power with ignition on. Ground wire ran to battery along firewall.
66nova replied to RyanbabZ71's topic in Off-TopicWe have used multiple Flex-a-lite set ups similar to link below. Have to measure your radiator to get correct one. We have had very good luck with them. Actually getting ready to order this one for my nova. http://www.jegs.com/i/Flex-a-lite/400/180/10002/-1
66nova replied to 66nova's topic in 1999-2006 & 2007-2013 Chevrolet Silverado & GMC Sierra 1500I'll check it out. I was trying to decide if it was worth the extra price and size for the HD one with tank or if just the compressor would work.
66nova posted a topic in 1999-2006 & 2007-2013 Chevrolet Silverado & GMC Sierra 1500Does anyone run an Airlift (or other brand) compressor with their air bags? Trying to decide if I can get by with the 25870 or if I need to step up to the 72000?
66nova replied to Loco-diablo's topic in Off-TopicI don't smoke and have literally pulled over in the middle of the night at a cemetery and made a girl I was dating smoke there when she tried to smoke in my truck. I have been in the market for a new truck and passed on two of them because of smoke smell. Drops the value a vehicle tremendously.
66nova replied to 007matman's topic in 1999-2006 & 2007-2013 Chevrolet Silverado & GMC Sierra 1500I always increase my tire pressure when towing. Softer tire will develop more heat and more likely to have a blowout.
