  1. Hi, I have a problem I can't seem to find any info. on & was hoping to find some help here. On my 97 K1500, the vent tube on top of the rearend has rotted off & I can't tell if it's threaded in or not. I have looked on numerous sites for a replacement tube & they have them for other makes but nothing for Chevy. I don't want to do any drilling without knowing what size or how they're put in. I would appreciate any advice-Thank you
  2. I have a 2014 Acadia with factory installed hitch & electric plug. All of the wiring seems to be complete, the fuses in the engine compartment for trailer lights are all live yet I'm not getting any electric at the round 7 pin plug. The only thing I can see that isn't connected is the electric brake controller which I don't need. Just wondering what to check for. Thanks!
  3. Hi, I've got a 97 Silverado w/350 vortec & just did new intake gaskets. I have the distributor set close enough so it runs pretty decent but I'm getting the P1345 code. My cheap scanner won't give me the cam retard setting & I've been trying to find a scanner that will at a decent price but getting mixed answers on some units. I was told by some that the Innova 3160E would give that reading and even called the company which wasn't any help.I would appreciate any suggestions as to what unit will work. Thank you
  4. I have a '90 chevy stepside & am trying to figure out if it has a 305 or 350. According to the truck VIN#, it's a 305. The numbers stamped on the block (rt. front) are V0126ULH but I can't seem to find any charts with the ULH suffix. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
  5. I have an '09 Silverado extended cab 4x4 with less than 40k miles. My left front tire wore down on the inside bad enough that it wouldn't pass inspection so I had new tires put on the back & put the one's from the back on front. At the time they still had app. 50% tread & were evenly wore. I had an alignment done & was told they adjusted toe (was out a little). Now, after less than 4k miles, the left front is starting to wear on the inside again, so I looked at the tie rod ends & could tell they had never been adjusted. Went back to same shop, they checked & showed me the toe was off on right side & o.k. on left. When I questioned why left tire was wearing, he said it was common on Chevy trucks for left tire to wear if right side toe was off! I have never heard this before & think I'm getting a line of bull, but was wondering if anybody has ever heard this? Would appreciate any comments. thanks
  6. Does anybody out there have info. on what to do with the steel top rails on 6' stepside beds? I have patched them up only to have them rot out again.I also tried removing them & had no luck getting them off. Right now I have 3 beds with the same problem & haven't been able to find any ideas.Would appreciate any help. Thanks
  7. I have a '97 Silverado with 6' stepside bed which needs to be replaced. Will a '99 or newer stepside work? I haven't had any luck trying to find this out & would appreciate if anybody knows. Thanks
  8. no, it hasn't overheated-temp. always stays normal. It has been losing some antifreeze for awhile but no signs of a leak or exhaust smoke until now.
  9. I have a 1989 chevy 4x4 with a 350 TBI.Recently, it started running rough & blew white smoke out the exhaust. There is no antifreeze in the oil, I pulled all the plugs & #7 cylinder blows antifreeze out when cranking. The compression is good on all cylinders but #7 compression leaks down.I am thinking it would be more likely to be the intake gasket than head as there is no oil contamination.Any thoughts on this would be appreciated before I start tearing it down. Thanks!
  10. I have an '89 gmc 4 x4 with 350 engine.About 6 mos. ago,I shut it off & went to start it 10 min. later & it wouldn't fire(cranked over fine).I let it set about 5 min. & it started right up & ran fine.Haven't had any problem until the other day when it did the same thing twice. I put my cheap code reader on & it's got a code#43.According to the book,it's electronic spark timing circuit low voltage detected or electronic spark control-circuit problems.I'm not sure what to start with, especially being so intermittent.Any help would be appreciated-Thank you
