Rob L replied to jdell's topic in 2014 / 2015 / 2016 / 2017 / 2018 Silverado & Sierra Issues, Troubleshooting, & Recalls/Service BulletinsI would like to ask a question of others that are having this problem... Has anyone of you changed out you brake light bulbs say to LED's? Any mod to you brake light wiring or tail lights? Causes for this P0573 cruise control code may include: Cruise control/Brake switch defective Wiring issue (e.g. pinched on brake pedal, chafed, etc.) ECM (engine control module) issue (i.e. internal short, open, etc.) Debris/dirt mechanically hindering brake switch operation Brake switch not adjusted properly Brake switch out of it's mount Symptoms of a P0573 diagnostic code may include: Cruise control completely inoperative Erratic cruise control operation Certain functions not operating as they should (e.g. set, resume, accel., etc.) Cruise control turning on but not engaging No brake lights if the brake light switch is faulty
So you are saying you would spin your tires on wet payment after such a mod? I would like more info if you disabled TC and this was the result... How about your tires? Brand? No weight in bed?
Well, I need to clarify that I am NOT looking to spin my tires just looking for a more attentive animal. Most people have been in the position at least once or twice in their lifetime... you need to go and you need to go NOW. I just want a more responsive truck.
Well, I might like a bit more twitchy, at least a bit more of a truck that's actually awake and not knapping so I have to kick it in the ass to wake it up. I understand a bit of torque management is needed, but my girl feels like she is not paying attention and that isn't acceptable to me. I want her full attention as that is what I give her when I am behind the wheel.
There is one brand name that does not seem to cover the Silverado but there are several manufactures who now make them. All kinda pricey for what they are.
Yes, great reply. I have done this mod and it helps a great deal but the 1 one thousand, 2 one thous... before launch is my issue. When I gotta go I want to go not just think about it and then go.
For me it is a "built in" response over the many years of driving. I often refer to an old saying, "you can't teach an old dog new tricks", LOL. I guess I can live with it or try and change it, but my thought is it will be much harder to change me, and the many years of driving responses I have acquired vs changing the trucks responses. Not getting into these situations is the best thought but crap happens and actually it happens more and more these days... I understand GM's thought behind this delaying the throttles response to prevent driveline failure but I am the captain of my ship and not the computer. JMO
I have reached out to Justin, Thanks.
I was thinking the same thing, only liability on GM's part. I was at a round-a-bout last year and had to gas on the truck to avoid being rammed in my door and the truck took a good second and a half to respond. It was very close, so close I could count the bugs splattered on the front of that semi truck.
Yes, I run a Black Bear tune. I read somewhere they can address that in a custom tune but not confirmed.
Not happy with my throttle response I was looking into these plug-in devices, such as this one from Vitesse Motorsports. I really have an issue with the prices of these things but this is acceptable if it does work. http://www.vitesse-motorsports.com/en/products-throttle-controllers.htm Anyone have experience with these controllers?

Rob L replied to jdell's topic in 2014 / 2015 / 2016 / 2017 / 2018 Silverado & Sierra Issues, Troubleshooting, & Recalls/Service BulletinsI bought my 14 Crew Cab in January of 14. I have had a couple of times over the past 2 years of having to charge my battery, once was because I left my Range Devise plugged in for a week. But twice in the last week my theft deterrent light has come on so I stopped by the dealership and they reprogramed the BCM/Immobilizer because they found a code of P0573. I would hate to have to pull my dash apart to check the ground but you gotta do what you gotta do. Time will tell.
Rob L replied to chris918's topic in 2014 / 2015 / 2016 / 2017 / 2018 Chevrolet Silverado & GMC Sierra 1500My 14's developed a streak right where I would look through the windshield. Picked up a pair at NAPA and they did the same. Replaced them at the dealership.
Rob L replied to Austin66's topic in 2014 / 2015 / 2016 / 2017 / 2018 Chevrolet Silverado & GMC Sierra 1500Understood, but my photo was to show him the grill he is looking for. I found one on Craigslist for $100. Where he gets his is up to him.
