1998 Sierra, Air Conditioning

Recommended Posts

My 1998 GMC Sierra air conditioning stopped working. I recently had the a/c serviced this summer. It has been working great since then. The clutch on the compressor would not kick on and off, everything ran smoothly. The day after i had noticed nothing wrong, the clutch would not kick on at all. I ran the truck down the road with the a/c on, and it would not get cool at all. Now, i know the clutch has to run to get cold air into the cab, but it wont crank at all. Seems weird that the freon is low or out if it showed no signs of being low the day before? I checked for any leaks around the system and found none. The only thing i can think of is maybe a pressure switch gone bad. Any ideas? Thanks.

Thanks much! I will try this out later today. If it works, i could mess with the spacers below the clutch itself and see if it fixes the problem. Thanks again.
