Oh, well that's interesting...so you think I'm a "green horn"? FYI, dude, I have changed tranny fluid/filters on all of my vehicles in the past, successfully. The only problem here is that F*^%&*^ Pontiac will not allow Chilton or others to release a service manual for the 2006 Torrent yet.
i'd recommend having a dealer do it, taking a swing on the trans isen't a job for green horns
There is a drain plug on the bottom of the transmission. Fluid is added by removing the fluid level indicator. Drain and refill should take approximately 4 - 4.5 qts.
Be sure and use the correct fluid. What else do you need to know? If the pan has bolts then remove the pan if you wish, dude.
Google is your friend. Alldata also should have the procedure

i've changed fluids before too, am i green horn? hell yeah...its good to be humble man, go get a freakin equinox service manual its the same damn vehicle, i recommended the dealer because 1) its not very expensive to know you are supporting a hard economy and 2) its less stressful knowing it was done right

$27 for alldata for a year
hey pal i'm batting for your team, dealer techs get a bad rep for being expensive and less then nice..and both are incorrect, i've had great experience with the dealer service department that i go to, and its really not expensive at all once you look at what kind of skills these guys got, you can go to some joe smoe mecanic and pay less but are you 100% they know what they are doing?
