Winter Wheels And Tire Pressure Monitor

Recommended Posts

I want to get a set of steel wheels for the winter for my '11 Silverado.

What happens if you don't install the tire pressure monitor sensors in the winter wheels? Are they really necessary?

As long as you dont mind the little TPMS light on the dash glowing you'll be fine. Its the same size as a check engine light, etc.

My tpms's are in the spare, sometimes I get the light, sometimes I don't....

How did you get 4 monitors in one tire?

Broke the bead and tossed them in, like I said sometimes they work and sometimes I get the light. It seems to be hit or miss....

I hate the light so I will buy 4 more and put them in all 8 wheels.

You now buy TPMS sensors that are programmed to match the id # of your old ones so you can switch summer to winter without the truck even noticing. And there cheap. No reason not to have them now....

Who makes them? Where to buy them?

The ones I have found are from Orange and you need a tool to clone them, If I can get them pre cloned that would be awesome

I have the Orange ones and the tool and have cloned my own. If you ask Orange (call them) they will tell you what shops in your local area have the tool and maybe they will clone some for you maybe even for free if you but them from that shop. Their site is orangetpmsusa.com and their phone is 888-407-8767
