Turning the switch to this position turns off the Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) and the automatic headlamps. The next you time you start the vehicle it will return to the auto headlamp/DRL settings

Found out the the "O" (off) position on Canadian models doesn't do anything (springs back to AUTO). But on the U.S. models, (correct me if I'm wrong) will shut off the DTRL.

US models are still spring-loaded but it will override DRLs or auto headlamps.

I think on mine to turn off the lights I have to hold the "O" position for like 3 seconds
