Good if you know someone. I know someone, but I have a bad back

I know about the bad back thing. Was injured in the line of duty, had 2 different back surg's.....Was back to work after 6 months.

You can still work if you were injured at one point in your life. We have purple heart vets in my line of work that don't use it as an excuse. Get yourself a job you are good at, you'll be glad you did.

Already? If you don't mind me asking, how many hours do you have?

Yeah, well not right away... I have about 6 weeks of academics before we hit the flight line, but the T-6 is the first thing we fly in UPT now.

And total between civilian time and other military training programs I have about 50 hours.

General Manager with a Co-operative Association. Ours does retail (food, convenience, gas bar, etc.) and commerical bulk petroleum deliveries, as well as a cardlock. We're a smaller one in the game, between $11-$12 million annually. I'm one of those storied folks having started as a clerk after highschool while taking accounting classes. I trained up the management chain, moved away for 2 years of management training and another 2 for management experience. Now I'm back where I started (where I grew up and started as a clerk), full circle.

Not sure I want to keep climbing the ladder. Some would like me to, but the Regional Retail Advisors and Commodity Managers spend a lot of time on the road, but I guess that's what it takes to go corporate. I like the freedom of settling in and fostering growth in my own creative ways. Lots of variables to consider.

...to think, it all started by stocking shelves, pumping gas and running a cash register.

I am a bookkeeper. I have my own business besides working for a bookkeeping firm or two.

I take the pressure off of the business owner so he can concentrate on the everyday tasks of running the business.

I also do the Sales Tax and payroll for several companies and provide the client with piece of mind knowing that their payroll taxes are all up to date and paid correctly.

One of the best parts of my job is that one client wants me working there 5 hours per day. Well, there is not enough work there to keep me busy so he allows me to bring in other work to keep busy.

It is like a dream come true....I am getting paid by one company to do their bookkeeping, while at the same time getting paid to be at this other client. Talk about getting paid for doing two jobs at the same time!
