Too late :)

The 3 top tier AM4 processors are what were officially announced yesterday priced at $329, $399, and $499. Preorders now with actual retail date being 2nd of March I think. All 8 core with hyper threading (I forget what AMD's actual name for it is). Vega which is their GPU is supposed to rumored to be end Q2 or in Q3 if I remember correctly. AMD hasn't really tried to compete with Nvidia's top tier cards the 480 price wise competes with the 1060 and reasonably holds its own. I'm still chugging along on my HD7950 and FX8320.

Unrelated note: Who wants to comb through my stack of paperwork and get my crap ready for my tax lady for me? :-D It's interesting how the 1099s I need for dad's stocks aren't all sent out automatically. Yet I can call and go through the automated system and get last year's dividend totals as well as have 1099s sent to me even though the automated system acknowledges that the account holder is deceased. Now if only I could figure out what his first car was, even then I'd have to figure out if he used the English name or put it in Italian...stupid account security questions lol

Nice! I'll have to check out the reviews once these new CPU's drop. Once I buy a house and get moved in I'm building a new rig. Thinking about possibly doing a custom wall mounted PC or maybe custom. Look to go full nerd on this next build lol. For the time being u just purchased a ASUS ROG GL502VS-DB71. Pretty sweet little machine as it comes with a m2 flash drive for boot, gtx 1070, i7 and 16gb of ram.

On a text related note my CPA did my taxes for free this year. First time having my taxes professionally prepared and got it done for free. Couldn't be more happy with this guy either.

New MT came, they got the ZL1 to run quicker than a MB GT-S and a 911 Turbo S, and McLaren 570S at Willow Springs. Judging by the 5th Gen Depreciation, in about 2-3 years you can outrun those cars for less than a Silverado LT

Big willow? Streets of willow? Or Horse Thief Mile. I've driven Streets and Horse Thief. They are fun. Horse Thief Mile is where they did the Roadkill episode with Randy Pobst. I did that in a 2015 Mustang GT

I thought I'd have to go to Intel finally when I did my next build. Maybe now I can still be a cheap turd if AMD got their crap together. Be nice to drop my build price by $500+. Who knows Vega will probably be out before I even seriously consider a new build, just might stick with all AMD. I wouldn't mind doing a wall build, except my walls are covered in paintings or behind bookshelves and other furniture so that's out. I do want to get a new HTPC case one day, maybe even get around to doing a ITX or mini-itx build for it. Only problem with that is I wouldn't be able to use old parts like I do now, everything I have is ATX.

I still need to sell a bunch of old computer pieces laying around. I've got a Corsair 900D and Silverstone TJ11 sitting in my closet. Plus countless odds and ends and water blocks. My next build will be all out like my last one. I'll get a nice 6 or 8 core Intel, 64gb ram, 256gb boot drive, some sort of raid configuration for my other drives, quad gpus and dual psu.

Although if Nvidia or AMD comes out with a new high end dual gpu card I may go a different route and go form factor.

As of this generation of GPUs Nvidia no longer officially supports anything past dual GPUs so good luck with 4 of them if you go Nvidia. I wish I had the patience for a custom loop, I'd end up smashing things if I ever tried.

I haven't been keeping up for the past year or so. Why did they drop tri and quad sli? I'll have to looked into this. My last rig had four 290x's and it was great. I could play any game on the highest settings at 2560x1440. I did notice when looking at the 1070gtx it had between 50-100% better results than the 980gtx in the prior generation.

Edit: Just did a quick Google while waiting for my wife in the car. Looks like there is something called an enthusiast key that enables tri and quad sli. But they also stated tri and quad sli only applies to certain applications. So not sure if that includes gaming or maybe just rendering programs for example it'll work. More googling will be had.

There are some youtube videos on it as well. I know Jayz2cents did a couple since he runs (ran) 4 Titans in his skunkworks. Either way I've never even crossfired so 4x of anything other than hard drives is irrelevant for me. I just remember that nvidia did it not really why. My guess would be so few people do 3 or 4 way that to bother the man power on driver support isn't worth it.

I did some more research and turns out Nvidia never started the enthusiast key. So you can only run two, period. Seems like Nvidia did it because they're GPU's don't scale well past two. Hopefully they are working on a solution and will fix it so they're future products do scale well. With 4k monitors becoming the norm more and more and graphics advancing, they'll be needed in my opinion.

The problem isn't really Nvidia it's the lazy ass game makers who do crap ports from consoles. Unfortunately people are willing to spend more for less so until PC gaming becomes more prevalent again we're pretty much at the mercy of game devs. Same problem with multi-core cpus, look how long that tech has been out and yet there is still software being made that doesn't utilize multi-core cpus very well. Seems odd now that 4-8 core cpus are pretty mainstream now.

My dad recently got four (slightly used) T/A KO' s that came mounted on GMT900 Z71 wheels, not a bad looking set up.

Although the tire is relatively loud and heavy as hell, it is the E rated version. This for a truck that's driven on pavement 95% of the time and has the 4.8L V8...
