Recommended Posts

02 chevy silverado 1500 5.3 4x4

i read the instructions

but doesnt go to in depth

i would like to make my truck to acclerate quicker

anyone use one of these and would be able to help me

off the subject but i got this truck with i believe is a 4 inch body lift with big off road tires that are on a 16 1/2 inch rim i would like to have smaller tires

What would be a good size without making my truck look retarded tire size now is 35x12.50 r 16.5

I would mind getting bigger rims either

Thanks for the tire info

the programmer has

engine tuning witch allows me to change the octane setting

engine rev limiter

top speed limiter for different tire speeds

tire size

rear gear ratio

shift point mph and rpm

and shift firmness

i just want it to be quicker on short runs not overall speed

What kind of tires are on that? My 86 k20 has 16.5 inch wheels on it and the only tires I can find for it are BF Goodrich all terrains. They seem to be the only ones anymore to make tires for 16.5 inch rims

The premium gas setting will make timing be a bit more aggressive and in turn get some better power/acceleration possibly.

select tuning to match grade of fuel you are using. Select shift firmness as yes. Correct for tire height and gear ratio if changed. That is it. The other options are for wideopen

  • 3 weeks later...

I used hypertech programmer on my 2000 GMC 4.8 litre.. All it did was remove the speed limiter, and improve shift firmness. Waste of money IMO. I got a blackbear tune on my VMax and it was a night and day difference.. Two different beasts of course, but I'll always go with BB from now on.
