I just replaced mine with Champion Copper Plus...so far, I'm happy with the results.

NGK. I got them, but haven't put them in yet (waiting for MSD Wires). Champion Coppers will melt if you live in a place like CA where gasoline by law has oxygenates in it.

Gotta get Iridium tipped plugs.

Your 5.3 may already have NGK. I had no idea. I contacted NGK about what plug they made was best for my truck--" Got a call from NGK today. The 5.3L comes with either an NGK or a Denso. Pulling a plug will tell. The NGK is a PZTRSA15 with a 0.060 gap. the Denso is a PTJ4R15 (I think, or a PTJ14R15). "

The plugs have been tested to 150,000 miles and he said they should be fine to 100,000. I asked him when he would change them in his truck. He said, pull them and check, but 100,000 is definitely not too long.
