Tow Mirrors

Recommended Posts

So I have just asked NitroDatsik a question but I'll throw it out to all...I have a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 that came with the standard mirrors (no way GMC are they truck mirrors!!) and since I tow a tag along trailer for camping it would be nice to have REAL tow mirrors. Looks like they are available out there now...but looking for any information on recommended dealers/brands and whether and of course I would like to make sure that at the very leat the upper mirror can be power operated...and if I elected to get the ones with the turn signal that they would also work. Any suggestions other than this is something that should have come standard on the truck in the first place and Boooo GMC?

Oh, and any idea how to find out if your truck will work with the power mirror (movement of upper mirror - or is it a given if you have factory power mirrors this will work with these tow mirrors) and whether or not the turn signal will work.

I'm pretty sure all trucks maybe with the exception of the 1wt (black bumpers) have power mirrors. If you can now control the glass to move up down etc then you have power mirrors. Now turn signals on the mirror well that's obvious lol if you don't have any then if you get tow mirrors with turn signal theN they will not work unless you do magic. So any tow mirror with power will work. The eBay ones we all got seem to work fine. Mine are still strong, pretty soon I'll be adding turn signal to them, I already have the stuff I just need time.

I found some for you

Right under $220 with no turn signal.

Check out this item I found on eBay: http://pages.ebay.com/motors/link/?nav=item.view&id=121466519208&alt=web

Oem ones

$800

Aftermarket with turn signal (if your truck has turn signals on mirror then this should work) a little expensive, they used to be around $350

Check out this item I found on eBay: http://pages.ebay.com/motors/link/?nav=item.view&id=181673212716&alt=web

Then they have this one's with the turn signal on the side of the mirror, not on the glass.

If you have power/heated mirrors just buy the tow mirrors with that same options and they will work. Just unplug your mirrors and plug new ones in (they are plug and play). No rewiring required. If you don't have the turn signal now I don't believe it will work.

Everything is plug and play. If you want the oem towing mirrors that look badass then they will be expensive and idk if they have the ones with no turn signal or power fold. The other way is after market towing mirrors and they are also plug and play for a third of the price.

NitroDatsik helped me with installation pictures and he is correct on what he said about tow mirrors. I got mine off ebay for about $200 with power and heat plug and play. They work great I don't see much difference in them versus oem mirrors except a lot cheaper.

Stupid question (or not). I have a 2015 and wanted tow mirrors, but they couldn't find one.

I want to add the aftermarket mirrors, but keep seeing "No ambient temp sensor". I don't think I have this on my passenger mirror, but is it painfully obvious if you have the sensor?

Signals may work if door harness is prewired, or you can tap into the wire. You can download full schematic for trucks here:

Has anyone purchased these for a 2015? website claims they fit, despite 2015 not being included in the description.

Sorry Gulf - I don't think those will fit - I only see 3 studs.

Here is similar set:

LED likely won't work unless you run wire, but they should fit.

They should work. Most likely like the other person said they will only have 3 bolts on them. Mine only had 3 bolts but it had the thread to add another so I dug around and found one and just added it to it. Then just drill the spot on it on the door and bolt it on.

Those are NOT for 2014/2015 new body. Those are 2007-2013 1/2 ton and 2007-2014 HD.

Do you have a 1/2 ton? If so, no ambient. That is a 2015 AVF diesel thing only.
