I currently have 2011 1500 ext cab 4x4. Hopefully going to be buing different house. House has driveway about 800' long with slope upwards. Thinking of getting plow for my truck if we close on house. Also thinking in a few years may look to upgrade truck to a 1500 crew cab. My question is if I buy a plow for current truck will it fit on new gm body stylke truck that I may buy in 4-5 years?

actually after looking at survey map I guess 800' feet of driveway is a bit of exaggeration. It is actually around 550'. Still quite the driveway. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

Its a hard call to say that a current plow mounting carton will fit on a newer not

yet produced vehicle as mfrs. change things at will.

Certain Douglas Dynamic companies GMT-900 mounts changed in 2010.

Also note that GM will deny factory warranty work on non VYU equipped plow prep

trucks also.

Just a few things to keep in mind.........................

I agree with sonjaab to far out to tell mfgs. are always changing but if the frames don't go thru any changes like the past 15 or more yrs. probably work, save the plow.Anyone know what ford T-bar keys interchange with 2000 chevy silverado 1500 z-71 4x4 for 2-3 in. lift thanks

I wouldn't plan on it fitting. It took my plow installers a few extra hours to put the plow on my 2014 because they said the frame was a little different and the front bumper assembly was different from 2013, so they had to make alterations they didn't expect.

So just trying to put a plow from 2011 to 2014 cannot be done without some customizing and alterations, it's safe to say the same for 4-5 years from now.

Really seems overkill getting a plow for your truck just for your own Driveway.. You'd be better off buying a snowblower or an ATV with a plow. I picked up a perfect condition 2006 suzuki eiger 400 with a plow and winch for 3000. Plows great
