I just picked up my new 2014 Double Cab LTZ. Red with Cocoa Dune interior. Love the truck but have an unsettling problem that's driving me CRAZY!!!

The top of the dash where the soft touch materiel meets the hard plastic piece where the defrost vents are is warping!!! :nonod: (see photos)

It's happening right in front of the sensor in the middle and on the passenger side. I took it into the dealership a couple days ago and they seemed pretty surprised and concerned. I'm dropping it off tomorrow. Hopefully they can replace the dash piece or something and fix it.

I'm wondering if you guys can compare my dash to yours and see if you are having any of the same issues. I live in Michigan so it's cold right now and I'm thinking maybe the temp change from cold to warm (defrost) is warping the plastic? Anyways it's staring me in the face every time I drive it.

If you google it you will get hundreds of topics on it.

Mine has the Tahoe style dash and it is cracking. I have a friend that works at a dealer and he is looking into it for me. Usually cost to replace dash (just the top part) is about $900.
Hopefully he can get me a discount or something.

You can't see it as well in my pictures I just snapped, but it's the same as yours. I didn't think anything of it. You'll have to let me know how the dealership handles it. I purchased my truck in another state and I am nervous to take it to a dealer here for things such as that.

I have the same thing. Warped... yes. Cracking or cracked... no. I told my dealer about this on day one. nothing they can do about it until it actually cracks (if it ever even will). If you grab your drivers door handle, feel where the top layer of plastic meet the bottom piece as well, HUGE gap that my finger catches every time. Again, nothing they will do about it either. To be honest, I don't want them tearing apart my doors or dash for such slight cosmetic blemishes because the possible damage/scratches/blemishes from the "fix" can be much more aggravating.

I am curious to see if any of you guys convince your dealers to do work though, because I will use that as ammo in my arsenal if I have to right before my warranty is up haha.

Yeah, my dealers service dept. was actually very understanding. It's way more pronounced on my truck then the pics suggest. sticking up almost 1/4 inch in one spot. I don't know what they will be able to do but I'll be sure to let you guys know. It actually makes me feel quite a bit better knowing you guys are having the same issue. Hopefully I'll know more tomorrow.....here's to a Stingray loaner car. :fingersx:
