Dealer Inventory?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Just curious if anyone knows when the Dealers will start acquiring on hand inventory for the new Chevy or GMC 2500 HD's? I would really like to test drive a new 6.6 before giving up my 2009 1/2 Ton Sierra 5.3.

I really like my current truck, but am looking for more towing capacity and have always wanted an H/D Duramax.

Thanks!

You can drive the same truck today. Power plant is going to be the same just body changes for this update. I like the way that they change power plant one upgrade year and wait and then change the body style in a latter year that way we don't get problems with both at the same time. :jester:

February at the earliest. Production starts mid-late January. Dealers have been able to place orders for them, no pricing yet...

Great! Thanks for your reply

Cool Thanks, Looking forward to seeing and driving the new bodied HD's. Is it true the 6.6's got new turbos tis year?

Only change I think was they got rid of the de-rated LGH for chassis cabs and use the LML across the board. LGH used a different turbo than the LML but the LML has the same turbo since 2011.

I've already submitted orders in my dealership for January production.... they're coming, but for my ship time, it'll be end of Feb, beginning of Mar before I ever see them

Thanks for the update.

I hope some of the dealers here in Central Florida will have some on hand inventory.

Test drive a 14 LML, the engine will be the same in the 15 like others have said. You won't be disappointed coming from a 5.3!

Awesome. I pull a boat that weighs right at 7000 lbs. loaded with fuel ect. and my 5.3 handles it, but I'm looking forward to the torque of the 6.6 Duramax. I may just go drive a 2014 just to feel the difference. I'm sure the H/D's have a much stiffer ride than the 1/2 ton pickups.

Thanks!

Any chance that GM is slow-playing the hp/tq numbers like Ford did before the release of the 6.7? Just find it hard to believe that GM won't bump hp to 400+ and tq to 800+. I realize they have a god's plenty already, but you know how the hp game works. Maybe they'll address that with the next generation of Duramax though too.

What advantage would adding 5hp give? Being able to say you have more HP then the ford? The next gen will def have more power but probably even more emissions crap hampering it down. I almost wish I bought an older diesel like an LMM or even an LBZ because they are easier to work on

You're right there is no real advantage other than claiming the hp advantage in a marketing sense. I know that the Ram HD's can be had with up to 850 ft lbs with the new Cummins. That's almost 100 more ft lbs than the current LML. I realize that unless you can use all that power efficiently thru the transmission it doesn't really matter though. The Allison is still one of the biggest advantages of owning a Duramax IMO.

  • 2 weeks later...

I have a 2015 GMC 3500HD crew cab long box 4x4 SLE 6.0L on order. i chose the gmc over chevrolet because I like the plastic fender flair/liner thing the GMC has..protects from rock chips I am hoping..I know the 2010 3500 I have the rear fender lips are beat to crap from gravel roads..
