It's only louder on harder acc.  And its more a consistent sound.  The 5.3 would make noise then suddenly get quiet while steadily accelerating.   On the 6.2 it's loud while accelerating briskly the entire time your in it.

Thanks Silver Sled

I'm in the process of trying to solve CAI noise on these trucks.  With my Volant and its POS design, the first ingredient was isolating the airbox from the fenderwell metal.  After installing a foam lining, vibration went down pretty significantly.  My theory is most of the other noise comes from the reverberation of noise from the hollow fenderwell area itself.  I think it really amplifies it throughout the cab.  If I ever get some effing time off soon, I'm going to stuff  it with blankets.  If that makes even an inkling of difference, I'm going to line it with sound deadening material.  We'll see.

I went with the Volant CAI on my '17 Sierra. The install was straightforward. All parts were of high quality, and fit and finish were well above average. The performance gains were pretty noticeable. I followed the instructions and disconnected the battery, to erase the PCM memory. The sound is nice. I am going to purchase the latest Diablosport tuner to work with my '17.

I installed the gm CAI on my 2014, just purchased a replacement filter 23231630 from the dealer. 100 bucks and some change, took a week for the dealer to get it. I noticed on the box it was shipped for K&N engineering in CA. I have looked on the K&N website and could not find an exact match.

So does anyone known what the part number would be, in the hopes of saving some cash in the future.

Did the K&N cold air intake. I’m a big fan of this system and my mileage has never been better.

I will say, Under about 1200rpm - 1800 or so, it gives off a bit of a lower burble or Metallica sound. Once it gets above 1800rpm or so. It sucks air like a beast and sounds great.

Anyone else have this?
