NADA has trade-in for 2013 Silverado's like yours at $30,000... so it stands to reason you 2014 should trade in for more.

Several years ago, all the dealers I encountered used NADA but now most use Black Book, which requires a paid subscription.

There is no doubt you will lose a crap load of money if you trade this truck in now. I do not have any irritating issues like this with my '06 Silverado crew cab Z71 with 20k miles. . No AFM crap, 4 speed auto which does not do any annoying downshifts. I gladly pay a 2 to 3 MPG penalty to have a smooth running powertrain.

It's no fun owning a virtually new vehicle and not liking it. If you can overlook the financial hit then I would just buy what makes you happy. It's just a matter of time before I cave and trade the '12 for a '14. What vehicle were you thinking of?

It's a whole new world with diesel trucks. I've had my fair share and still have my hot rod truck I call it lol. 06-07.5 was the prize year for Duramax you won't have many issues with it. But as everyone says you'll lose a ton of money but you're not the only person in the last 3 days or so I've read about not wanting the truck.. Also will pay average of 50-80 cents more per gallon. I think if I didn't have my 6 speed cummins hanging out I would be a lil more on the edge with my LTZ. It's nice but for the things it doesn't come with that it should are a joke. Aside the lil bs tho it's the nicest car/truck I've ever owned. And depending on what kind of lift/tires you throw on the dmax will determine fuel mileage. I was getting average of 17 or so with 35's and 7" lift CCSB on my 06 LBZ. Smooth as glass. Hands down the nicest truck I've ever owned. Just what ever you decide to do.. Think about it this time! Negative equity is no Bueno. Id like to see what you end up with.

Your gonna take a big loss. But if you really don't like the truck do what you gotta do. Rather then buy a 14 1500 I got a new duramax.. Don't regret it one bit. Better make a decision quick.. Getting hard to find clean lower mileage LBZ's. Wouldn't be afraid of an LMM either.

probably going to be sub-30 grand.... the dealer gotta be able to sell it too.... why on earth did you buy it in the first place? I can see after a year or two realizing you made a mistake but so soon?

Man I explained it a bunch..

Trans sucks

Gas mileage not close to sticker.

No dimming mirrors (didn't notice bought during day... Very sensitive eyes.)

Interior noisey rattles..

Truck shakes like crazy..

Not a fan any more.. My wife hates it. So I have the go ahead to let it go on trade in

I just got a 14 Ram Limited. It has some paint issues and it's in the body shop now getting touch ups. Other than that I love it. If you don't like it, then trade it, but if you do...check out the Ram 1500 Diesel, insane gas milage.

You didn't do much explaining, your first post doesn't have it in it.

Trans sucks, let it learn or get a tune for a couple hundred, problem solved. Not to mention it will improve other things as well as performance.

No dimming mirror, purchase one and install for a couple hundred (you are a tech and can do that and isn't a deal breaker).

Probably doesn't rattle that bad (an 80's escort rattles), Take it to the dealer and have them find them and stop them, that is what they are for, problem solved.

Shakes like crazy? Again probably not that bad. Discuss with the dealer and have them fix it. Take them for a ride and they will make it right by either balancing or replacing, problem solved.

Gas mileage, if you are up north you are on winter blend, not to mention it takes some time for the motors to break in and get advertised power and mpg's. Your a tech and should know this and it is notorious with GM motors. Dyno a LS motor at 1k then at 20k and you will be looking at more hp and mpg's

Not her truck, doesn't matter. You bought it so she gave you the blessing before.

If you bought it you must have liked most of it, why take a bath when you just need to fix a few things that only needs a couple hundred dollars to make perfect how you want? Surprises me some of the horrible decisions people make and not doing there homework. Maybe it is the Finance side of me and my line of work or being a car guy too? Sounds like those are the kinds of people that are never satisfied, if you a new truck you purchase that you really wanted then turn around and sell it or trade it...
