What have you done to your K2 today?

Recommended Posts

The build looks so good! I really love all of the mods you have done and thank you for posting all of the specs!

Would you mind snapping a few photos of your front driveline cv angles? I only ask because I've read so many times on this forum that it's not recommended to go over 2.5" of lift with out a diff lowering kit because of how severe the cv angles are and pre mature wear on the drive line. Out of fear I ordered a diff lowering kit and I'm installing my fox 2.5's this week and might go over 2.5" of lift and would love to see what your drive line angles look like. If they are not to bad I might skip the diff kit hehe. I am just not to comfortable shaving down one of the diff housing fin's to make it fit.

Thanks man! Solid job buttering me up before asking me for something, too [emoji6]

Yeah, I can definitely get some pics of the CV angles - I'll try to remember to do that tonight. I have a diff lowering kit sitting in my toolbox, too, that I need to install. As bushleaguechew posted, shaving/grinding off the metal shouldn't have a detrimental impact. I've planned on installing it regardless of whether I went 2.5 or 3".

I can't wait to try out my fumoto valve. Too bad it's going to be quite awhile as I just installed it two months ago[/quote

Do you remember the fumoto part number or where did you buy it? Thanks

I went with the new 107SX valve

I wasn't going to at first, but i decided to buy the nipple adapter. I found it the cheapest here on ebay

Here's what mine looks like installed

What's up fellas? Got my 2015 1500 DC a month ago as an early wedding gift from the fiancee

and love it so far. Never really messed with vehicles too much until now, but I wanted to make it my own so started reading the forums too see what I could do for cheap.

Here's everything I've done in the last month:

- Bowties to black (front, rear, steering wheel)

- Silverado badges off the doors

- Motofab 2.5 level in front (might change to a 2" or 3" block in back

- Tyger Riser running boards

- Footwell lights with dimmer (comes on with dash - dimmed as low as it can go)

- Running board lighting (dome light circuit)

- Air dam removal (might put back on)

-Paint stick behind gas pedal (ABSOLUTE MUST)

Gonna add tint, wheels, tires, bedliner after the wedding. Also looking into a spindle lift or bilsteins to replace the leveling kit. Satisfied for now I guess...

Congrats on the truck looks nice. I think the wheels on it are fine just need some beefier tires to go with your leveling kit. I say do a 2 inch rear block unless you do heavy hauling and towing than a 3 inch would do better.

Thanks. I appreciate it. I'm probably going to stick with the stock rims for a bit and try out some 275/65/20s as I saw a couple people running with them after a 2.5" level also. I can't decide between the 2 or 3 block yet. I feel like if I go with a 2 I'll end up wanting the 3. I've seen good results with both.

Could always do a "boot slide" mod... Pop the inner clamps off the boots closest to the axles center, extend the boots so the fins are not touching and reinstall new crimp clamps or get some stainless worm clamps to re-secure the boot in its new position. If the boot keeps pulling back to its original position you can open it up and put a spacer/keeper to keep it from sliding back.

Thanks for this - done a bit of reading up on it and it sounds like it may be the way to go.
