What have you done to your K2 today?

Recommended Posts

Here's a couple things over the past couple of weeks.
Finally got my morimoto hid kit installed. 50w ballast with the 6500k bulbs. The ballasts are riveted under the plastic dressing under the hood. Install was a breeze, took maybe an hour from start to finish. Light output is 10x better than the factory bulbs. Can't even tell when I turn the light bar on now. (Guess I'll be removing it)
Also picked up an ole beater avalanche. Heaviest haul so far and it done great on a 5 hour trip. I watched the transmission temp the whole way and it peaked at 205. That was from stopping at a red light. Average the trans temp runs around 190 to 195 unloaded so I think it's pretty good considering some of the hills in eastern ky. I did have to use my helper bags. 55psi Is what I put in them. Without it the truck was trying to bounce off the road.
And just a random picture of the truck. She's a little dirty at the moment. 7ceef1cacfacd354fcdb214e1ca32668.jpgce256e25666f4028529a45e4420ec120.jpg625d1874241a9b67bbfccd7f3a00207e.jpg69995bd1664f50c4ea160ff3d771163d.jpg

Reolaced my IOB 7" with the Alpine x110-slv 10" Restyle kit and added the leather steering wheel with radio controls. Drag is the steering wheel controls didn't work with the idatalink Maestro as I was told by the Alpine tech so I still have to change the BCM.

Looks good, where did you buy the wrap at and how much does it go for? Is there any side affects for having it on? Thanks

Finally coming into the homestretch on mods left for the truck. Got the rear bumper covers ready to be painted. Fronts have been ordered. Should have them painted within the next month and installed.

Got my proto-type skid plate mocked up. Going to fab up the SDHQ skid plate in 24 ga. stainless steel then Line-X it.

Friday i’ll take some actual measurements on the truck and get this fabbed up next week. I will be adding tow hook cutouts as well.

If it turns out great and you’re in the Dallas/Austin/Houston Texas area, I could possibly make a couple more after mines finished.

Looks good. How much coverage will it provide your front end? Thanks

Thanks and it does not have Android Auto or CarPlay however it does have HDMI input so you can mirror your phone/tablet without the limitations of those (you can play Netflix, YouTube or any other video app)

Well finally got around to swapping out my LT headlight housings with the LTZ housing. Along with the Opt7 X led bulbs. While I was at it I threw in a pair of Rigid D-SS driving lights as fogs.1b97b53957208c8150615d9606982be8.jpg18bb998c7c939fad4cf0c483228d6c56.jpg628a1bf0a105c7eeb3acf7f7aadc0275.jpg

This has to be the nicest interior update available! It is an upgrade that not only looks great but enhances the value of your truck more than the actual cost of the audio system, imo.   Nicely done!

They make one for the GMC with red buttons. I also hate the buttons but if the color is the only problem, well solved.

I thought crutchfield had a disclaimer stating that you can’t back back to the oem radio after doing this upgrade. Not sure why, I didn’t feel like talking to the customer rep

The colour isn't the problem to me. The fact that they are so square is what turns me off...
