2014 home projects

Recommended Posts

So does anyone have anything going on this winter/spring?

We have been talking about new countertops for a few years now. We are finally going to do it.

Going with a quartz countertop, stainless steel under mount sunk, delta faucet (with the touch control), and a matching tile back splash. The counter is going to be heavy :(. 2 sections are about 300lbs each

Im moving to a new house. Will finally live alone. I have some electrical projects to do in the new house. Also I want to build a desk/work bench in the garage.

Nice tile Ryan. I just finished a tile backsplash job with that exact style tile but a different color. It's nice to work with if you have a tile saw. *TIP* mix the grout a little thin to get it into the grout lines because they are so narrow, it will make the job a lot easier.

I may turn our 1/2 bath into a full bath......maybe.

The tile is on sheets don't think I will need a tile saw for these. When we did our bathroom I took the tile to lowes and they cut for free.

I'm currently finishing up painting my new kitchen cabinets, have already got a new counter top, floor and appliences in the kitchen so its the last piece of the puzzle. Besides that I think we're going to replace all the interior slab doors with six panel doors some time soon. The sierra was really handy for getting all the lumber for the cabinets and it will surely come in handy for the new doors!

Finish my shelves in the attic so i can finish cleaning out the garage. Hopefully after that, garage floor coating, and start parking my yet to be purchased new to me Silverado/Sierra inside. Would like to screen in our back patio. It has a roof already and corner posts, just need to add the aluminum framing and screen it in. Just moved into the house in July, and we have an 18 month old, so lots of small projects to keep me busy for awhile... and broke!

I'm thinking about painting the aluminum siding, finishing the drywall in the garage and putting in a celing out there to keep it warmer / cooler per approperate depending on the season.

We just bought our first house. Its a 1945 original. Has had the electrical and plumbing done and that's it. The electrical is still original wire, PVC insulation and cloth jacket. They ran grounds everywhere like worthless scabs.

I really appreciate the quality craftsmanship from 70 years ago. Not much else.

So it begins. Gutted and remodeled the master bedroom. New wire, data, insulation on all walls, 5/8 drywall, swirl textured ceiling, smooth walls and refinished floors.

Gutted and remodeled the bathroom. New wire, heated floor, archway over alcove, lights over tub, new tub, new vanity, trim, insulation on all walls and 5/8 rock.

Still have the dining room, kitchen, living room, den and corridors to re-model. There's also a finished basement to update, they did a piss poor job.

Still need to trim out the built-in cabinets and base shoe.
