New Duratracs coming to market

I was at my local tire shop getting two tractor tires mounted today, when the owner of the shop started talking about truck tires.

Apparently, Goodyear beat the pants off of everyone in the A/T tire category for the last few years because of how successful the Duratrac has been. The problem? The larger truck sizes are only available in a stiff 10 ply LT version.

Well, not anymore.

Goodyear has a new Duratrac coming out in truck tire sizes that will be P rated. This means half ton trucks owners will now be able to get the same great Duratrac in a tire designed specifically for 1/2 ton trucks. These will of course be lighter and offer greater MPG due to less unsprung weight. He said there is over 20 sizes coming in about two - three months time. I can imagine this things will rule the market!

I was just looking at these.

I really like the Toyo AT2 Xtremes but worry about MPG loss. These are 33x11 and only 46 lbs. seems reasonable and still get the aggressive look.

Anyone running these P rated ones? Reviews or pics?

This is still unconfirmed guys.

I contacted my local tire again on Thursday and he still hadn't heard anything more about this. I am not going to bother waiting, I think AT2's will be in the my future instead.

What do you mean?

They are available to order on that link I posted above from tirerack.com

Are you saying they don't have any in stock to send to your local dealer?

finally got my tire rims and level kit installed. i installed the rough country 3.5 inch level kit with upper control arms, the rims are 20x9 0 offset MB Motorsport chrome rims , the tires are Goodyear duratrac 275/60 r20 .

my plans were to buy toyo open country at2 extremes. but my dog needed surgery to remove a tumor. so my tire budget was cut. then i ran across theses tires on tire rack they are not LT rated but for the price of $228 each i couldn't pass it up. they look much better than i expected. they are 33x11

with the zero offset on my rims i new i was going to have to trim the inside of the fenders but to my surprise since the tires are 11 inches wide there was no rubbing at all going forward or reverse even when hitting a bump while turning. no contact . its really close but clears . the tires are very quiet on the street. i expected them to be loud with the aggressive tread. but going 45mph with the windows down you can hear a very low hum. my exhuast is louder then again i have a flowmaster 40 so its loud. on the freeway at 75 with windows up stereo off you can hear the tires . but not like mud tires . if you turn the music on you won't hear them. but if you like completely quite tires then these will be loud for you.but they are not as loud as my old bfg all terrians

the Goodyear duratrac is very light in wieght for a 33" tire . 46lbs

sorry the truck is dirty . i took the pics as soon as i got home from discount tire. they priced matched tire rack . also lots of construction on the road to my home so i pick up mud. not from off roading.

Here is a review and some pics I found running the P-Rated duratracs. Look pretty nice. Curious how they run and hold up long term.

Depends what size you get too. I have 275/70/18 Duratracs and they are still only available in the 10 ply it looks like.

For the record I do love the tires, lost about 1.5-2 mpg, and not as loud as I expected to be....
