Power Folding Mirror Upgrade

Recommended Posts

I purchased new DL3 mirrors (23464428 drivers & 23464427 pass) with the power fold, turn signals, auto dimmers, heated and also the drivers door switch (23154702) with the fold button and amber led indicators in the mirror adjust buttons. I just installed these in my 2015 Yukon SLE and they were plug-n-play, no new harnesses, no bcm flash and everything works except for the puddle lights which I personally don't care about. I also don't know about the automatic dimming as I hardly ever drive at night (my Yukon has the inside rear view mirror auto dimmer so the DL3 probably does work). I wanted folding mirrors and the turn signals (they are amber). The mirrors come with no caps and you just pop off your old ones and snap them back on the new mirrors.

Here are the pin locations and wire colors, if your vehicle has the wire colors for the folding and turn signals they should work, but your mileage may vary!

I made up a how-to to remove the door panels on my 2015 Yukon the trucks should be the same with the exception that they have another screw holding the panel on below the switches behind a plastic panel that snaps off.

  • 3 weeks later...

im looking through some info, and excuse me as i'm sure it's been covered, but......

ON one of the retrofit sheets I am looking at it states what "body" it is, i'm sure referring to sing, extended, or crew.

It lists 03, 43, and 53. Am i right assuming that 53 is crew cab?

Thanks folks, Jay

From my research that is correct. You need some DL3 mirrors and switch 23154702. I've reached out to smokey1300 who has been successful at this. You do need to look at the female end of you harness within your door to see if you have the pins for the powerfold. Looks like pin 18 from the diagram above. The puddle light and signals will not work without changing the door harness though. I don't think anyone has chimed in that they replaced the door harness and got the signal and puddle lights to work but your also looking at about $80-$90 for each harness.

Can someone who has done the swap check to see if you have the options for power fold in the settings menu on the main DIC? Wondering is you can set the reverse tilt and power fold-with-key fob options.

That would be too cool but I doubt just replacing the switch and the mirrors would change that but....

I have an LT crew and took my switch apart tonight to see if the wires were there. I found that, unlike the plug above with 18 pins, I only have 12. I did see on another site that it look like pin 2 (fold in) and pin 9 (fold out) are possibly available for this, but wasn't sure if that's what anyone else was seeing. Here are a few pics of my plug:

The pin and wire chart I posted above are for the mirror plugs and harness to the mirrors. The switch plug is different. If you get the mirrors and the correct door switch it should work, but like I said above "Your mileage may differ" but it worked for me.

Would you be so kind to update your findings with the lt crew?
