Typically you'll see the best results by using the grade that is suggested by the manufacturer.

I don't have a 14.

When I had my 2009 with 5.3 I switched from 87 to 89.

Made a slight difference in power and mileage.

My truck appears to get better mileage with the higher octane fuels. I'm not sure of the cost difference versus mileage increase though. We have 87, 89, 91 & 93 here.

I also feel it runs better but that could just be in my head.

Depending on where you live like me being in Ontario you can get gas at Costco 91; Canadian Tire 91; Esso 91; Ultramar 91

These are the only stations and grades of gas with absolutely no ethanol.

As for power I see very little difference basically because the direct injection and variable valve timming adjust for it.

I do pick up 2.5 mpg running it though so that's how much the blended gas we have hurts our millage at least in these trucks.

So it comes down to the actual prices that day but works out almost the same money wise.

The cleaner is just to make the DI injectors las longer.

Shell in ontario also has no ethanol.

Never tried it in mine tho. So you have seen aas much as 2.5 mpg increase?

Last weeks tank running 87 Blend.17.42mpg or 13.5/100km Working long hours and had to get gas at a station open when I went home.

This weeks tank running 91 From Costco with no ethanol 19.28mpg 12.2/100km

This is mixed driving 30% city the rest highway.

So 1.86 mpg increase this week. Like I said it varies based of of how I drive.

However this adds up to 6.5 liters saved in a week.

There is about and .11cent difference so in reality after it's all said in done I only save a few dollars like 4 or 5 bucks.

Of course the price gap always changes so sometime it's not a better deal. If it's between 10 to 12 cent difference I will use it if it's more it will be the same.

Trust me they spread that gap between grades from time to time just to get the money back from people like me. So I aways watch the difference.

As for Shell and Petro Canada I never save because they always price it up to much 16 to sometime 20 cents more.

Costco and sometime Canadian tire I can save.
