2014 air intake/cold air intake

Hi all,

 

I'm a new member here. Just traded in my Camaro for a '14 Silverado 4X4 5.3 after seeing the truck month deals when I went in for an oil change, been missing having a truck ever since I sold my 2002.

 

I was looking at putting a cold air intake on my truck but I noticed the crank case breathers that come off the new engine design 5.3L air intake. I know the cold air intakes for the new 5.3L have holes for the breathers but does anyone see changing this causing any harm to the engine or crank case? I'm not familiar with how those breathers tying into the air intake like this works.
