Poll here for Denali owners. This has been discussed in a few other threads, but I haven't seen a dedicated thread yet. I also wanted to get a feel for how prevalent this problem is.

Just a recap - since week one of ownership, my Denali Instrument Cluster resets certain parameters, fields, pages randomly on a semi-frequent basis. It averages about once a week, two weeks at most. I have not been able to determine any triggering event or pattern to the resets, but I have identified two distinctly different issues.

Issue 1 - Large Reset

This one occurs most frequently. I usually keep my DIC on the Technology Theme and either Trip A or Distance Remaining/AFM page. When this reset occurs, three things happen:

A) Theme reverts back to Standard

B) Page switches to MPH

C) All of the Fuel Economy histories (best 25, 50 400 mile) reset to Zero (I think Hour meter may reset as well, but I haven't used that page in a while)

I rarely ever generate a best 400 mile FE average as this reset occurs so frequently.

Issue 2 - Small Reset

This issue occurs about 20% of the time. I have my DIC pages limited to 4 or 5 most used pages. When this reset occurs, the blank page gets added back into the list (maybe another page as well), and I think it also reverts to the MPG page. This reset does not switch themes or reset the best fuel economy history.

I've mentioned the problem to my dealer service once, but they said I was the first person to mention it. I plan to go back again soon for this, but would like to get a feel for how prevalent the problem is. The tech said he was going to have to spend some time on the phone with GM engineers, so I think this would be useful information.

Please vote with whether your cluster has this problem. Thanks.

I don't have a Denali but I am getting something similar on my Silverado. This is the first post I saw when I was looking to see if someone else was having this issue.

This occurs when I turn off the truck and then later turn it back on I have the Audio page on my DLC when previously I had the Avg. MPG/Mile traveled page. Also, my best 25, 50 and 400 are reset. I did not check other settings to see what else had changed, reset, or added. This has happened already about 3 times this month.

I am starting to think it might be my battery or something because my dumb radar detector does not turn off after I shut the engine off, it only goes to sleep. There does not seem to be a way to make it turn off, unless I'm missing something

I don't know much about the new platform but sounds to me like a bad/loose connection somewhere in the dash somewhere. In my generation the hourmeter would reset from time to time. Mine's reset so many time I have no idea how many hours I really have. It's currently at 900 hours and 120k miles so my average is 133 mph, I really don't think so.

I guess if you have a non-Denali and have the same problem, let us know. But I haven't heard of anybody having the same problem outside of Denalis.

And who voted No? I'd like to know. I can't see individual results for some reason.

Thanks.

I'm not sure, I thought I saw a blink once, but it may have been day/night switching.

I have brought my Denali into the service dept 3 times for this. They reflashed the software twice and it still does it. There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason, but I did notice that the last 2 times it happened, I had used the remote start or on star app.

It is frustrating, but not enough for me to keep brining it in. Hopefully a fix will come.

I had posted about this several months ago, when I first got the truck. Several other Denali users noted the same thing at that time.

To my knowledge there has been no fix yet, but I am due for my 1st oil change soon and I will address this with them yet again. They were unable to reproduce the problem (of course), which makes it difficult to track down.

Happens all the time in my 14 Sierra Denali !! I brought into the dealer and they said they have had no other reports of these issues. They said I had the latest software. Kept it overnight. I thought I found the trigger for this -- whenever I set the speed limit and hit the limit, the next time I started the truck it reset. But it just reset again without the speed limit set. I tested it with the GMC App on my Droid and no correlation. Dealer said to disconnect my phone from the bluetooth to see if it's that. That seemed to help in that it went longer without resets but still trying to diagnose. I will bring it back to the dealer for the second oil change and they will give me loaner until they figure it out...
