So all of the panels are on and the blue has been sprayed. We're waiting until it warms up more to paint all of the silver on the truck.

So yesterday I spent a full day on the truck again. I got a 2nd coat of POR-15 on the frame, and a 3rd coat underneath on the new inner rocker panels. I also got some body work done to the passenger side, and all of the chrome stripped off of the grille.

Decided to separate the grille shell from the rest of the grille. Currently prepping it for paint. Also went to the junkyard today. Had to get a new interior trim piece I broke during the rocker panel repair, some weather stripping, and a fuel door since mine was rusted. Only cost me $20.90f375bd00c8411f15b57a4c17d969f6.jpg

I really like the color matched grill. It would look even sweeter with some custom color matched headlights!! Awesome job!

How did you dechrome the grill? I started to on mine and then got tired of it quickly and just sanded and etched primed it before paint.

Thanks! I sanded it until the chrome became thin and then I used a razor blade to peel it off.

Looks great Daryl! The silver on the bumper cap and tailgate is how GM should have painted it from the factory. I would have painted the handles too.
Thanks! It would look good, but I like to keep the everyday use pieces on the truck stock plastic.

So the next project for the truck is a full front end rebuild. I've already got newer tie rods installed, but I need everything else. I ordered an idler arm last night to start with. I'm going to collect the parts and tear it down to figure out which pitman arm I need, and then I'll pick one up and put it all back together.
