Dealer did me right

Went in to get a tire patched. The dealership noticed my chrome rim starting get discolored. They said they would talk to factory rep and call me back so I could bring it to them. Instead they called to say it will be taken care off. This was all them being an advocate for the customer.

 

Only reason I posted my little story is there are so many threads talking about bad dealerships. Just nice to have something positive to share.

I dont know if this is true or not but a guy I know worked for a Chevy dealer as a mechanic and told me the service folks are not suppose to bring stuff like this up unless you ask to have it looked at or replaced. Seems like a way for GM to not fix broken things unless the customer complains.

don't doubt that one bit. but if you have a dealer that does it then that is the place to get your vehicle serviced at.

Probably true but its good customer service. Also some dealers whether they say it or not, don't like warranty stuff as they get paid a set labor rate by the manufacture. For Ford it was $40 an hour for warranty work where as that dealer charged $80 an hour. But if im business man warranty work is guaranteed money, bring it in. But on the flip side it also cuts against the bottom line

That's awesome. a proactive dealer great to hear. one big thing I think most people don't take into account is how people approach a dealer! if you come at me screaming and hollering ill tell you to F off. but you come to me and voice a concern or issues like "normal people" do then we go about handling business. just a my 2 cents

dealer has to make money. it actually costs them money when they do a trade on your vehicle. i know because ive been in the business for years. it takes money to service your car, detail it, etc. plus they are taking a risk of setting on it for a long time before it sells. i know this sounds kind of rude. i think it sucks too they low ball our trades. its just the money making business game. but ive seen times where dealers actually lose money on trades. the bottom line is getting you in the vehicle that you are happy with. that is what drives business and keeps the customer coming back. if its something you can live without then i would just keep the vehicle that you currently have.

thats a bit much i agree..i usually see $2-$3k..usually no more..really all depends on the inventory the dealer has, their expected monthly quota and the location you are in. you can always shop around and have the dealers compete one against the other..that is what every dealer hates to see happen because somebody has to break in the middle to please the customer.
