Recommended Posts

Hey guys I'm getting ready to put a mag hytec diff cover and transmission pan on my truck I was wondering if the valvoline maxlife atf full synthetic was ok to run in the allison I have a 2003 8.1l cc lb 4x4 I'm putting in the royal purple 75-90w in the rear diff the front already has it. Thanks for any in put and does any one know how much gear oil and transmission fluid they add.

Got to be TES-295 Allison spec compliant. TransSynd from Allison would be the best to go for. Rear diff is just over 3 quarts with stock cover, front is just near 2 quarts. The MagHytec I would imagine would be deeper and therfore hold more, so see what they recommend. Trans, I'd measure what you took out, put that amount back in but like a quart less than what came out, then check the level and fill to the proper mark on the dipstick.
