Almost mine....

Recommended Posts

I went to look at the truck I ordered. They still need to do PDI and undercoating.

Double cab LT with the 5.3L and Max towing. Brownstone metallic.

MSRP was $47,595. They are throwing in undercoating, but they sold me on katzin heated leather seats for $2500. Total out the door of $42,690. We agreed on a deal when i ordered, but they said i could choose to work a new deal when the truck arrived. I tried to get employee pricing in addition to my deal, but no dice. Apparently the deal they gave me is about $2k under invoice.

First thing i'm buying is a set of step bars. That front lower facia thing is not going to be on there long. It looks like I can't go over a speed bump! Soem might say its not that bad, but I high centered my lifted F150 twice last year. I have plans for lift and tires, but i'm on a work site located on the other side of the city right now, so i'm going to wait until that wraps up. No need to waste a good set of ATs on pavement. This thing should save me $2 a day on fuel compared to my F150. I was thinking about transferring my headache rack to the new truck, but i'm saving about $0.50 a day in fuel now that i took it off my 150. Who knew they caused so much drag?

They told me about 10 days to get the leather in, so i'll post before and after in a couple of weeks.

I have about 400km on the truck now, and i absolutely LOVE this truck. I've driven Lincolns, Audis, and BMWs, and none of them were quieter than this truck. The ride is so smooth that my mom commented that she was actually able to dial a phone number (she's new with the touch screen phones...). The acceleration with the 3.73s brings a smile to my face every time. I test drove the 3.46 and i was not too impressed, but the 3.73 reminds me of a diesel 1 ton. I'm not sure if the DIC is accurate, but i'm quite happy with the fuel mileage it claims i'm getting. If true, then this truck is saving me about $2 a day in fuel compared to my 5 year old f150.

I know that it is scary for potential buying to look on here as a lot of people have problems, but I must say that I've never had a better vehicle. Time will tell if i'm wrong I guess. I've been a die hard ford fan all my life. My family are ford drivers too. We owned a few Chevs in the mid 2000s and did not have a single good experience. I was really hesitant to buy a chev, but all regrets were gone when I drove it off the lot. My only complaint is the ride height. I'm really fighting the urge to lift it. The truck just looks too low. I'm going to require some off road capabilities in January for an intense hunting trip, so we'll see.

Thanks for all the comments, i'll post up some more pictures when i get time to take some. I've been crazy busy this week. Until then:

for canada, you did great on the price. my Sierra crew MSRP was about a grand or 2 grand more, plus rhyno liner and i walked out at about the same price as you taxes in and all on the road (and i was also under invoice, i know a few people that work at the dealer i got it from) but i dont have the max tow brake controller option or the katzkins.

please post a pic of them when the seats are done and the heat control switches, im curious if they pop in OEM ones or aftermarket switches, also try to find out if they are putting in the GM seat elements or the Katzin elements, ive been looking at them online and debating on ordering a set. if they are good with answering questions....ive heard the OEM seat wiring is in place, ask f they used the factory harnesses or katzin harness and added it all.

a rough country 2.5" lift should suit your needs. I just have the 2" level and it gave me enough clearance for what I need but sometimes I wish I would have gone a little more. the 2.5" lift wont make you get huge tires to make it look right so you wont kill your MPG or whatever yall Canadians call it up there lol. and you have the 3.73's so even less to worry about.
