pictures of truck with rims

Recommended Posts

Anybody have the 2014 gmc sierra all terrain rims on their 2013 or older sierra/Silverado? Have any pictures of it? Or know of any pictures of trucks with these rims? I was considering buying these for my 2011 and just want to see what they would look like.

This may be a little off topic but I feel the need to rant a little.........Does anybody else here get irritated when people, for whatever reason, insist on calling vehicle WHEELs "rims"? Not sure what is so confusing or why people think that wheels and rims are the same object but it's irritating.

Our trucks ride on something that are called wheels. A rim is only a small component of a wheel.

For those who are really confused and insist on calling vehicle wheels 'rims', here are some definitions from the dictionary...........

A "rim" is :

a : the outer part of a wheel joined to the hub usually by spokes.

b : a removable outer metal band on an automobile wheel to which the tire is attached.

A "wheel" (the round metal object that we have on our trucks that have tires mounted on them) :

- a circular object that revolves on an axle and is fixed below a vehicle or other object to enable it to move easily over the ground.

Back on topic.....Those WHEELS look good on that truck, nice color too.

Haha.... well you're not going to win this one!

It's common slang for factory wheels to be called wheels and aftermarket to be called "rims". At some point in recent history, wheels in general became "rims".... go figure. :dunno:

Times change... slang changes... I can't keep up with it!!!
