Wanted to warn everyone again about led 3rd brake light

Got the 3rd led brake light off eBay had a new sunroof installed about 2weeks later I noticed some water stains on my head liner so I assumed it was the sunroof took it back and after he looked at it he brought me back to the shop and said hate to tell u this but it's not the sunroof it's the 3rd brake light he had the headiner pulled down a little poured water over light and yep poured in! so here some pics don't make the same mistake I did

I know you are trying to save water from going in your truck...but that duct tape on the paint makes me cringe.

Replacement "led" third brake lights are available. But requires a new housing which I guess doesn't fit or not stable (fit wise) in the sun. Note, I'm just jumping into the thread with an Internet opinion, I don't actually have one.

That sucks man. From the location of the water stain, it appears to be more central so I would have also assumed the sunroof.

 

I hate to be an ass but when you installed the light, with a gap like that, you didn't figure water would get in? Personally, had I installed it and seen that I would have either ripped the thing off the truck or tried to make some sort of gasket seal for around it - beside the duct tape I mean.

 

The pink tape does look good on the truck but I'm still a fan of good old fashion original grey.
