Howdy from Texas

Recommended Posts

I have driven a Chevrolet truck since the day I turned sixteen. I started out with a '93 Silverado 1500 Z71 4X4, then went to a 2000 Silverado 1500 2WD, now I have upgraded to a 2014 Silverado 1500 XLT 4X4 Crew Cab. I decided to join this site after stumbling across it a couple of weeks ago. I was thinking about doing a few things to my new truck and was happy when I found this site. You guys are a tremendous resource and a wealth of great information. Thank you.

After a little research from this site I was able to make a few decisions based on a lift and tires for my truck. I settled on the Rough Country 2.5" Lift and 285/55R20 Toyo Open Country AT II tires. I am very happy with the way it turned out.

I do have one question for you guys though... what would y'all recommend as a good tire pressure for these tires? I don't haul anything heavy or tow anything heavy. Mostly just driving to work and back on the highway. At the moment I am running 38 psi (cold) in the front and 35 psi (cold) in the back. Is this too low of a pressure for these tires? They are rated for a maximum of 80 psi which I know is entirely too much. Any advice would be appreciated.

Here is my truck when I brought it home from the dealership.

Here it is after the lift, tires, spray in bed liner, and tinted windows.
