05 Hoe in need of a new HU

05 tahoe equipped with full navi, steering controls, xm, onstar, bose. Looking to replace my headunit with all these features included and id like to be able to bluetooth hands free also bluetooth and or wire play droid/apple for music.

 

Hopefully others who have gone down this path maybe be of help to the most cost effective way for me to replace it. Looking for something thatd still give stock feel but not cluttered with physical buttons. personally of i ever did sell the truck down the road id like the next person to almost feel this actually was factpry options in a sense. If anyone knows where im coming from on the thought.

 

Looking to maybe adding a small sub later down the road to just give my music that edge too.

I can't give too much advice as all I did was swap out my factory head unit for an updated kenwood with bluetooth, no onstar, bose, or navigation, but I had a good experience with Crutchfield. They set me up with almost everything I needed to complete the swap. I believe they do phone support too. I didn't need it, but I think a friend of mine has called them before and they were pretty good at working him through the problem.

 

 

I'm assuming you're replacing a factory head unit? If so, I can't imagine the same year tahoe being to much different than the silverado even with the navigation difference, so just be aware you will likely loose the "chirping" alert noises if you take out the factory head unit.

Did i say something thats misunderstood? Im getting rid of my stock gm navi headunit im just saying id like to retain the same features as new headuniy with navi. So the option it came with is still there so to speak

Look into Pioneers AVIC line. You will have all the features plus some. Then get the adapters you need from PAC Audio

crutcfield helpes a bit, looking at $1100 at the end with me installing it. I was debating on going the tablet route and fabrixate my own frame to hold it just the controls and features of how far i can go seems somewhat limited
