Exhaust valve

Recommended Posts

My adaptive exhaust valve has squeaked on my 14 sierra since day 1

I booked an appointment July 28th and took the head service guy for a ride to have him hear the squeak every time the truck goes from 4 to 8 cylinder mode

Today he finally called me back to tell me Gm doesn't have a fix for it

For the people who HAVE had theirs fixed, what did your work order say?

Thx

Mine is a march 14 build and they say there is nothing they can do

How many miles do you have on it? Call the 1-800 number for GM or try another dealer. Should be under warranty unless you are out of mileage.

3200. I don't have time for Gm and their shenanigans . My 14 silverado was a POS and all they did was give me lip service for 3 months. Nothing but empty promises about how they care etc. all it did was waste my cell phone minutes lol

Just turned it counterclockwise and used a hose clamp to hold it

That's what I did 4 months ago and its still holding strong. I like the way it sounds a little better too

There's also a method to put a botl through the adatptive vavle listed here...

http://sandyblogs.com/techlink/?p=3296

That method is intended for diagnostic aid, not a permanent fix, although some people have used it.

If the condition is reduced or changes greatly in severity with the bolt installed, replace the exhaust system.

We ordered one for a truck with this issue.
