2004 K2500 6.0L Persistant Oil Leak

Recommended Posts

I have a 2004 6.0L Silverado that I have recently had a lot of work done on. Let me start this story off by saying I have faith in my shop, the service writer is a personal friend of mine, and the two mechanics there are both master ASE cert. each who have been wrenching for 20+ years. That being said, we are in a predicament. I had a nasty oil leak about 6 months ago that turned out to be the rear main seal. That was fixed, and I also replaced the oil cooler lines, associated plate and gasket (one above filter) and oil pan gasket during the time it was in the shop. Now here is where it gets funny. Since then I have had a small oil leak in the oil pan gasket, confirmed with dye multiple times. I've had 3 pan gaskets put on over the last four months (all at shop's expense) and the same leak comes back again and again. It's a small leak, it will put a quarter size drop of oil down in the driveway about every 2 days, but it just rubs me wrong. They are recommending replacing the oil pan as a last ditch effort (possibly warped), but that sucker is like $400!! Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Believe it or not I thought my rear-main was leaking, After further looking into the area of the leak it ended up being the oil pressure switch. Take a look at that. Just a thought!!
