2014 Duramax 2500 engine misses stops

Fisherman68

Question

While pulling my 26FT travel trailer the truck run fine for the first 50 or 60 miles then the engine

started to miss and run rough. The first time I was driving down I-5 after 60 miles the truck started to miss I pulled over. The truck Idled but a little rough,no engine light. I decide to go on, as I merged on the freeway the truck smoothed out. About 100 miles later truck starts to miss again. Again I pull over no engine light

nothing on the read a board the engine quits this time I am able to restart and continue this was 4:00 on Friday. About 6pm again it started to miss again I pulled over and the engine stopped after a few minutes it restarted I knew I was to late to get it to Vancouver WA. but tried to call the service Dept. but everyone was gone. Somehow I made it home, Next day I called two service departments in Vancouver, and Portland OR. Both said without a engine light on or nothing on reader board there wasn't anything they could do. They said to keep driving it and see if it happens again. So I drove it daily for one month no problems we had a camping trip planned for Aug.20. Truck ran fine the first 60 miles of the trip then there was three severe jerking engine misses within seconds apart when I accelerated the truck missed and stalled I just was able to get it off the road. I called three Dealers only one suggested I call Chev USA Thank you Chevrolet They paid to tow my truck to Dalles OR. This was Sat. no mechanics until Mon. The engine light was on when it was dropped off. Their diagnostic. machine could only read past problem that had occurred which were many. Anyway I'm picking it up tomorrow unfixed but the engine light is no longer on and hope I can make it home. I have another friend and his 2011 Dura 2500 broke down on the road near Yakima WA. They think it is a fuel pump problem and they don't have any techs that can work on it so Chev is towing it to Idaho. I love my truck I want it fixed. I am losing trust in it. Anyone out there have any similar problems please let me know. I have had a sensor in the DEF replaced, the oil pump replaced. Maybe its a lemon?

Is your friend's truck still in Yakima? If it is have him call Mobile Fleet service. They are a GM truck dealer with a service department open on Saturday. They know more about the D-max than about anyone.

Good luck

Mike

Thank you for your replies I'm just getting use to this forum, anyway I drove the truck home no problem about 100mi.Contacted my Portland dealer he said to call Monday the 8th see if they can figure a plan out. My friend had his truck towed to Idaho they said it was the injector pump and needed new injectors? He thinks he'll trade it in on a new one I'm not sure that's a good Idea it has 61000 miles this truck should just be broken in. I'm losing faith in the Duramax.

Take it to a dealer than knows how to use the software properly...sounds like a cp4.

Take it to a dealer that knows what the hell they are doing. Don't lose faith brother, you got a nice truck. Stick it to em, it's their problem not yours.

Test desired vs actual rail pressure. And injector balance rates including return rates.
